They can barely pay wages. They literally have to sell. Read earlier one report saying they were asking for around £30 million (other have said £25m of course) and understand why Fulham won't pay that if true as it is never that much for unproven players from Brazil. Surely they will drop to £20 to £25 million here...looks like they have no choice.

I think it's irrelevant. He's untested at this level and spending £30m on him is to risky for us. We aren't the biggest club in the world or have the biggest budget so we need to stick to our prices.

I mean, If their counter offer was such a reasonable price, and our current rejected bid so low, then multiple world clubs would have been all over it presumably , but they havent been. So we remain the only club to have valued him this summer at wbat we did and clearly for now are not alone in not being willing to pay more than that valuation at this stage so dont think it that savage at all.

As mentioned before its not our place to be a charity for businesses that failed to  run themsleves properly and hand out millions more of our budget than we need to when what weve offered is alreay a record fee for their club. We offered 25m reportedly, we told them how long that would be on the table for, and that's that. If they end up having to settle for less itll be their own fault for pushing their luck evidently

Yeah it sounds savage but actually I'd say they are the ones being unreasonable. Joao Gomes went for circa £15 million from Brazil. Same age, also a midfielder and although many experts over there were predicting more for Andre they were similarly rated. £15 to £20 million seems the going rate for these kind of prospects from Brazil as they are untested in the prem so if they are asking for £25m to £30m it's a lot and think we are within our rights to pay the going rate. They also could have sold him to Liverpool last summer for probably more as big club tax but they decided not to. I do feel for their situation but I think Fulham if offering £20 odd million are completely fair here considering what Gomes went for to Wolves.

and me ,never understood why parker didn't even put him on the bench ever,and showed his nievity as a manager.

Played an hour v Reading and made 4 League Cup that season and was on the bench a dozen times.
Didn't really catch the eye. Although, of course, with the wonderful aid of hindsight, was the most dazzling prospect of all time.
He's quite a useful player now. It's taken four years of steady progress to get thus far.

Yeah I mean he only signed for MK Dons after us, he's obviously improved a fair bit in the years gone by but it happens a lot. Calvin Bassey was released by Leicester 4 years ago as deeemed not good enough and now he's fantastic.
