Kakuta Loan Deal

Fulham Football Club is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Gael Kakuta from Chelsea until the end of the 2010/11 season.

The 19-year old forward moved to Chelsea from French side Lens in 2007.

Born in Lille, Northern France, Gael is a highly-rated young player who has represented France at U16s level to right through to the current U20s squad.

He has scored 15 goals from 45 appearances for the France youth teams and helped France lift the U19s championship last summer

Kakuta recently signed a contract extension with Chelsea in December and has made appearances in five out of six of Chelsea's Champions League group matches this season.

He's immensely talented this lad, Chelsea are reducing their big money signings and looking to their youth now with a view at attempting to be sustainable going forward.

This boy Kakuta and Josh Mceachran look the real deal and for that reason chances of us having an "option" to buy is about as likely as Sanchez taking over at Chelsea. Unfortunately the kid is viewed as that good.

Most loans with options are players about to transfer/try before you buy but this one is defiantely a case of send him to a club below us (in league stature only) for some experience.

All I am saying is there have been players who looked lightning quick and amazingly talented in the youth competitions before only to be total failures at the senior level...just don't get your hopes too high up in the sky...

Whilst this can be the case, you have chosen one of the all time biggest blowouts. I say give the lad a chance before you poo-poo the signing.

Plus, Chelsea put a lot at stake getting hold of him. If they had doubts, they would not have got him.

Plus, he has started in the Champions league for Chelsea. He is obviously a bit special.

As long as mean Elm (who has gone) and EJ never play upfront for us in the Prem I would be happy.
