Haha - Yes sadly you are dreaming if ya think Zinchenko would play for Fulham for 50k per week. He's reportedly on somewhere between 120-150k pw at Arsenal

well he only earnt 20k a week when he was playing for city so he's had a couple of years on high pay. He only played 9 games last year so no one will be paying his Arsenal wages but maybe a performance bonus could be added to a lower basic pay.

Find it hard to believe he'd drop to a 3rd of his current wages at this stage of of his career with all he's achieved. He could likely find a European club and in a world where were paying players who've achieved less from arsenal closer to 100k (like leno reportedly) I find it hard to believe he'd accept 50 is all.

Would be much cheaper at LB to bring in Harry Amass from Man U , only 18 transfer would be about £5 million , solid prospect for the future and frees up Sess to play on the wing

Every transfer is a risk - in this case it's well known what the risk with Nelson will be, so if we were able to structure a deal for him that sensibly protects us in case of injuries cutting short his playing time, then having a player of his quality available when fit is a huge boost. He's also not really going to command a huge transfer fee/salary moving forward either due to his injury history

I'd like him back if the deal was right. The article suggested we'd pay £20m for him which would be madness. A loan with an option at say £15m to £20m would suit all parties to see if he could prove his fitness. If not and they want money up front no more than £5m to £10m.

My only issue is lees the financials then and more him getting injured again and leaving us short. If we got him you'd feel we'd then pretty much have to get another winger on top just in case. Even more relevant with Iwobi being off for at least a month this year. If you could pick someone like Rafa Silva up on top for £8m who plays left but can also play multiple positions across the front and then get Nelson on loan tgat could work well but I'd be worried if Nelson was the only left winger brought in as stuffed us this year and could do again.

Exactly, and for me that comes into the planning/risk element of it knowing that he could be out injured for a while, you could get him and another winger because at this point I think a realistic assessment of Nelson is that he's a good player but won't be sold unless Arsenal get real on his valuation due to injury history

It's how we roll unfortunately. To be fair this year no desperate need to do things too quickly as Tete aside the main starting team is still there from last year. By all accounts we are trying to go for 4 or 5 big and ambitious signings. They never happen quickly for a club at our level as got to convince them to not go to a bigger club so not expecting much anytime soon.

yup. we can enjoy our summer and let it play out or do the usual silly season stuff and stress about it relentlessly. The choice is ours. Either way it won't make a difference to when it happens 😅

As ever I'll be in the camp of letting it play out, especially as we already have a squad in place more than capable of competing, that you could put out on day one and know are capable of getting results. The earliest we signed someone in the summer in last decade I think was Joao in early July. Mostly it's late July/Early August before we make our first signing.

I'd actually really like him but not for anywhere near those sums. He struggled at times last year at Ipswich (where I grew up so lots of family watched him every week) but he showed instances of real take talent along with Delap obviously. In a more stable set up with less reliance on him, maybe he'd show a lot more.

Lyon have just been relegated to Ligue 2 due to financial difficulties. Makes the Fofana transfer easier to achieve, could always try and convince our old mate Nuamah to join again  

Will be a few good players worth taking a look at in that Lyon team for sure though and it'll be a proper fire sale too
