Fulham will add players to fit & improve the team.

Relaxed gets you relegated we have massive holes in our starting 11 lack of goals from defence, central midfield, too many soft goals conceded no blocking allowing players to shoot unopposed, no tempo or desire after Christmas conceded late goals way to often

:slap:  Oh yeh, we're staring at relegation.

There is no place for relaxation

Of course they ain't. Its not like we're a professional football club or anything.

Even one statement signing right at the start of the window could have really been beneficial and gives out a message saying that we mean business. It might then get similarly high profile players interested in coming here.

No signings so far gives the message that there is no ambition from an outsiders view.

Honestly outside of Fulham supporters I'm not sure anyone would really care about when we make our first signing - I'm fairly sure prospective players will care more about their role in the squad and how much they're getting paid

Oh come off it.....look at our squad now compared to what was going on behind the scenes back then and reflect we're not in the same position at all. I can often be regarded as the glass half empty pessimist on this board by some, but frankly, people suggesting a) we aren't signing anyone because of some sort of complacency or b) with current squad (heaven forbid we do sign no one) that we'll be finishing in the bottom 3 is quite frankly, absurd. We will sign players. Relax. We have a good squad, with the most settled squad finally getting a full pre season. These are much, much shinier times as a fulham fan......

I really don't think it's that deep to be honest, think we put more weight on this stuff than the average baller. The agents know what clubs are pushing for and have direct conversations with the clubs and managers involved.

The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Bed wetting season is in full swing already 🙈

Same catasrophising year in year out, and for what? Nothing changes, the club will still sign players when they sign them,so all it does is create an unpleasant atmosphere ,really not worth getting so worked up over tbh. Let it play out, assess it end of the window, enjoy the silly rumours.

That may be but wouldn't it be nice if our club identified its targets and went out and got them through the door a bit sooner. There are clear benefits with that approach. Obviously I have no idea what's going on at Motspur Park but we do seem a bit 'Mickey Mouse' when it comes to recruitment.

NO! We're going down unless we sign a statement signing in the next 48 hours. Anyone will do, just as long as they are old, on a short term contract in line with Silvas contract, are injury prone, have poor stats last season, and we pay circa £30m. Those are the terms. Oh and record breaking wages. Please.

Do we?
I think largely transfers have been on the whole pretty good for years now? We got promoted stayed up and solidified ourseleves in the league never once being involved in relagation battles, made record profits on player sales without really slipping back and managed a record points tally for the club. Think this is the best squad we've had in a long time going into the summer. Sure last year ESR and Anderson had not overwhelming seasons but still ok, the former dealing with some niggling small injuries and he still had a good amount of G/A with plenty potential to push on. But all in all been pretty happy with the business beyond that. Sess, Cuenca, Berge, we were in European places when nelson was finding his feet.

Mickey mouse seems outrageously harsh to be honest

Robinson, Tete, Leno, must rank up with some of the best value signings we ever made, sold Sess for a wedge, got him back for free and managed to get him firing again. Adama on a free has been good for us, Raul on the cheap whos also been good for us and just fired his national team to victory. Add to that ,unlike some others we've never been in ffp trouble either.

Not sure what's Mickey mouse about it tbh, we just have a different approach that some fans don't like so assume incompetance without really knowing the inner workings, but its working pretty well on the whole really.

howitis

With Newcastle agreeing a £55m fee for Elanga, I was wondering if Harvey Barnes might be surplus to requirements. I think he fits the mould perfectly for us ....

We aren't going down (or at least, I doubt we are) but yeah, "relaxed" about transfers does sound like "relaxed about finishing 13th and not particularly desperate to compete for anything more than that."

As Whitestone says, there are numerous benefits to doing at least some of your business quickly, proficiently, decisively and deliberately, but as usual we seem to prefer the "do nothing until August and just see what comes up then" approach.

Rightwhite

Quote from: Somerset Fulham on July 07, 2025, 09:00:53 PMAs soon as a signing happens, within about two or three days the tears start again.  It makes no difference when the first one is.

People just really, really need to calm down about it. Its not Supermarket Sweep or Football Manager, its real life.
Spot on

Clearly we're not just waiting till August to see what comes up, do people really think we're just chilling doing nothing?

Were reported to be in active conversations with a number of players according to some reputable sources

So we're evidentally active and exploring targets and negotiating. Why people want to assume we're just sat twiddling our thumbs till August I really don't understand.

There's a budget to be balanced between positions, much more likely given the interviews on this topic from our club, is we waited to see situaton with Tete as that might have meant a significant outlay there and so would have a knock on effect on general budget  And were seemingly currently exploring negotiations between several key targets , likely seeing if we think we can get fair value deals, given it's worked many times before, if not we're playing the negotiation game and holding out and taking the time to explore other deals also, either as leverage or as other genuine options, much like the Andre to Berge saga last year.

Then we'll start to pull triggers from there

Id expect we see our first signing end of July/early August time , as that's how we generally operate

Look at the team we had and got relegated under Parker being cocky and sentimental gets you relegated. Newcastle have just bought Elanga meaning Forest can now go all in for Malick Fofana . We need a least 5 quality additions .

Remember that very well. Had Fayed not sold up Jol would of been sacked but Ali Mac was able to keep his bitch a decision that cost us our premiership place the following season. Waiting to Oct/Nov before sacking him the damage had been done and the carnage following lay at the foot of one persons door.

The issue is you are assuming cockiness from what? Just because we haven't made a signing yet we're cocky?   Were in negotiations.

In reality the club has stated publically they think we have a good spine (we do) and are now aiming to add real quality in a few key areas. No one's thinking we can just not sign anyone this summer, so this is all just catasrophising and working yourself and others  up over nothing.

Let it play out man. If come end of the window we haven't improved as we said, then we can all moan about it then, but we're in good shape and WILL make more signings when we feel weve reached fair valuations for targets we want. Were in negotiations with different players clearly and have a good starting 11 as it is. Now it's about trying to make that great.
