Don't really understand some of this Muniz discussion.  He's young and entering prime years.  At present, I think he is first choice at FFC.  Still favored by MS, and a player MS wanted in this team when acquired.  Not sure where a third striker fits in, maybe youngster, in grooming.  Or someone with experience who can also play on the wing, other positions.  But as I see it right now, Muniz is in starting XI.

Muniz looked rubbish yesterday as for Nelson 15 million is taking the complete p-$$ he is at best worth 3 million walk away he had a couple of good cameos but he isn't strong weak shooting ability and is always injured no thanks go get Oscar Bobb can cover all 3 attacking positions.
1) Oscar Bobb
2) Gustavo Hamer
3) Tommy Conway

Muniz happy to go to Leeds as he will be out and out first choice striker and won't get that at Fulham

Sounds like a Leeds fan trying to believe his dreams.

£38m? I'd snap his hand off

I wouldn't, he looks every bit of a £50m player. I think he gets you 15-20 goals a season if fit and in form (he's a big 'confidence player' so the manager is key in his development). Given his age and general skill set (great in the air, bullies defenders and actually has a pretty good range of passing), I doubt we can find better than him for £38m.

15-20 goals a season? I can't see it. He's too inconsistent. Great one game. Awful the next.

I can't think of another player in the league who has his number of goals vs minutes played - especially at his age anyway. He's someone who could only be a season away from developing into a top player. If a young player doesn't get the minutes then they won't be consistent. I would keep him, give him a new contract and start him.

Who replaces him for that money?

Muniz reminds me a lot of Zamora in terms of playing style & physique, who despite much promise as a youngster did not achieve the level of "that" Europa League season until the one he reached the age of 29. Muniz has only recently reached the age of 24, at that age Zamora had scored a goal every 222 minutes in a team that got promoted from the Championship.

Take it you didn't watch the game yesterday. Muniz offered nothing. Didn't look anything like a 50m player and Chris Wood looked much better in comparison. Certainly didn't show any of his skill set of bullying defenders and being good in the air. Easily pushed over, doesn't have much positional sense (like pereira did for the goal). Still see him as being back-up to Raul currently and for whoever we sign to be our starting striker

I didn't see the game so I can't comment. But I would prefer to judge him based on what I've seen over the last couple of seasons rather than a pre-season game. Anyhow, I do think there is a risk that he doesn't make it, but I think it's one worth taking. Anyhow, I'm sure the club will make the right decision.

I'd rather judge him on games v Liverpool, Newcastle, Chelsea, City and Arsenal. He scored against all the top 5, and twice against the title winners...

Exactly. Every club wants to shop for strikers in the 15 to 25 million price range. Fulham are not at the head of that queue. So they are left getting either FA's (Raul), young players several yrs off (Muniz), or ghosted on the Romulo's, Gyorkeres type guys who everyone in Europe is looking at in the 15 to 25 million price range.

If they sell Muniz the club have zero Strikers committed beyond this season. That feels like a very poor choice to make.

Last week people on here were moaning that we needed more friendlies to build match sharpness and get ready for the season. Well we've had 3 preseason games and Muniz produces a performance like that. Honestly the MJ statue moved more than him. He looked like a player that had been told "your off to Yorkshire"

Yes it's only a friendly and it's in the league that matters as mentioned above but I just expected more from someone who is so highly valued. He just didn't stand out as anything special.

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

This club seems to attract fans desperate to dispose of our best or most promising players for chicken feed. I still remember the calls on one of the forums to sell Schwartzer, a literal club legend IMO, because "his kicks weren't attacking enough".

I didn't watch the match, but I'm not doubting what you're saying about his performance.

Pre season is funny, and I try not to read into it all that much. Remember we got battered by Benfica a few seasons ago and then started the season like a house on fire.

Nelson, actually agree, don't see the quality in him others do, but Muniz, we'll regret letting him go but in a way I hope we do, as a player I think he's outstanding but has a manager who doesn't use his strengths, Silva trying to turn him into Mitro, he isn't that, having seen Leeds friendly vs Man Utd, their pacy attacking style would suit him perfectly. He'll flourish within a pacy attacking side. I hope he stays and Marco's replacement is a little more understanding of his skill set, same with the younger players.
