Quote from: Mullers OG on September 01, 2025, 03:13:41 PMCan't believe we'd sell Wilson. Man with a real eye for goal and hugely talented. Offload Traore asap instead who isn't any goal threat. Must be someone somewhere who would take him.

Echo sentiment here - A shame we haven't agreed a new deal for Wilson, he loves the club too.

26 GA since we got promoted.

Set piece expert too now that we've lost Andreas.

And Wilson covers RW and the 10.

Big loss, just hope the fee is respectful despite his contract length

I mean in fairness, lots of us (me included) moaning about squad age being too high - replacing a 28 year old with a 19 year old will go some way to improving that.

Also with the way Sess has been playing maybe he factors into the numbers on the right making Wilson expendable

Why on earth would we loan out Wilson.....makes zero sense.

Wilson has a year left, at peak age value, and we know that he's probably too inconsistent if we want to turn into a top half team. It seems a bit cutthroat but replacing him with someone younger and more potential isn't a bad idea if we can get something like £10m for him. £17m for him and Godo going into two new young wingers isn't bad in all honesty, and if it had happened a month ago we'd all probs be much eager than we are on deadline day

Anything above £10m I think we should be taking.

Depends who we bring in

Kev
George
Chuk
Sterling

Wilson out for a big loan fee seeing as in last year of contract?

Who bloody knows, it'll be resolved soon whatever happens and we can pick through it then 😅

Yes - me neither. I'm hoping it is just silly season BS.  How on earth is he worth £22m!!

If it is in addition to Kevin and Chuk, then what would be the point - he will hardly play?

If it is additional player to cover the loss of Godo and Wilson, then personally we are better of keeping Wilson (even more so, if it the plan is for Wilson to go to Prem rival)!

Nothing about this 'deal' makes sense - unless all the other deals are falling through and the club are now absolutely desperate.

Or
Hear me out

He's better than you think he is

Chelsea mates rate him, Godo just went for 8m, how much did dibley go for?

Transfer fees are nuts now

I@m not against selling Wilson, but loaning out feels strange. Poor business from Leeds if they gave a decent chunk for a loan fee, but not buying now I guess.

That'll virtually be both wings completely replaced if they all sign.
Adama will be a bystander for the rest of the season.

Apparently Chuku is a loan with €30m option

Agreed. Chelsea fans are laughing at us in disbelief that we'd spend supposedly £20m+ on a teenager who's hardly played a competitive game, when Nelson is £15m, Stirling on loan would've been less.. Even Berge, Lukic etc were all less. And Lukic was captain of Torino when he joined.

Tbh, selling Wilson probably makes sense. A year left on contract, not a regular starter (but will be for Leeds), a scorer of wonderful goals rather than a wonderful goalscorer. He's probably going to sell for more than we paid for him and creates space for Chukwueze (two years younger) on his wing. If selling him pays for George (there or thereabouts), we'll have lowered the age of the squad, created some resale value etc.

If it's a loan + fee though, we'll probably extend his contract a year while we're at it?

FFC007

I wonder if the Godo transfer inflated fee has been used to inflate the George transfer fee....

Creative accountancy springs to mind.
