Also will hold hands up, was sceptical of DM - but everything so far is accurate, so fair play.

A loan for Nelson would be good news I guess, given his injury record I also hope we can sign another winger - but not sure whether squad space really allows for that. Let's wait and see.

Happy with Nelson coming back and I agree with the approach of getting him back on loan (presumably with an option or obligation) based on his injury record. Have to wonder why this is being done in mid-July though...surely this would have been easy to tie up a couple of months ago?

I have asked if Romulo. Assuming if it is they have perhaps accepted ours and Leipzig s offer and up to the player but a complete guess. Frigging hard work isn't it.

What's the deal with "FFN discord" not heard of it, and there's an 'ITK' on there who shares content they won't on X etc?

Sorry should have explained a bit more.

FFN is Fulham Fan News who posts all the rumours. He has never claimed to be an ITK but because his site has got quote big I think he's got quite connected so gets bits of info from folk.

Discord is just a chat platform app. Was set up by 'That's so Craven' I believe. FFN is on there with someone from 'The Puntney Perspective' by the looks of it. FFN posts little bits on there he's heard but doesn't necessarily post them on his main page so I've just been popping anything interesting on here.

Anyone can join I believe. I believe they also stream every game on there although not the best quality and I have my own service for my TV.

This is the link but you need to download the Discord app:

Said all along that Nelson would be a loan with an option or obligation to buy. Just makes sense for all parties. If he can stay fit £15m could be a steal so if it was an obligation at something like that based on a lot of appearances I'd be happy with that. If he's cropped the only major loss is lack of cover but if we go for a second winger anyway and get a striker who could play left (Romulo could by the looks of it) I'd say it's a good plan.

The plan was always to wait for Nelson to return to full training. Incase of set backs in his rehab.

I appreciate the sentiment but even then Arsenal have been back in training for over a week and he has been pictured amongst it from day one. The timing makes it seem like Silva returned to pre-season on Monday and said 'why have you not got Nelson?' and the transfer team have scrambled to get this done. Either way, hope he's the first through the door with more to follow before we head-off to Portugal.

DM

Fulham are discussing a loan with an option or obligation in the region of £20m for Nelson. ⏳

I was wondering if that might have been a factor the other day

Yep, I posted that weeks ago, it's such an obvious deal structure. No brainer that was very easy to predict. I guess we just have to settle the precise terms now.
From what little I saw he looks to have some real talent so I'd be happy to see a fully fit Nelson in our squad.

It looks as though Liverpool will be picking up Salford City's star 17 year old striker Will Wright  for £200,000. It is said that the ex-Man Utd Salford directors are not happy but it just shows that we can all be victims of the same system.

Sunderland and Leeds 2 signings a piece today.

That's because they need to sign players to replace or inhance their squad after sales

I don't mind Nelson coming back but again it just comes across as a lack of inspiration by our recruitment team. At the moment it feels as if the only players we show interest in are ones who recently left us or are Arsenal or Chelsea rejects. Romulo the exception if it actually happens.

No loyalty there is there!! Having said that they are prob that pissed off with G Nev constantly saying what a shambles United are at absolutely everything on Sky I would imagine they quite enjoyed it.

G Nev is however correct.  ::smile::

By all accounts Marco desperately wants him and it has been the club tgat has been resistant. To be fair he could be an absolute steal if the operations have work d and he actually stays fit. Also seemingly one of the few targets who is actually desperate to play for Fulham which is kind of refreshing of course.  ::smile::

If this is true then I'll trust Marco's judgment. For the record I don't think he is a bad player at all, I just wish we'd think a little more outside the box. Guess I'm just still annoyed by the Willian return in January.

Think Nelson is one of those almost greats. There is a reason he got such a ridiculous contract, the talent is there, but he is just made of glass. Not an inspiring signing but as a loan with an option I'm not overly concerned as long as we get a second quality player that can play on the wing.

Paying £15-20 million for him now after he spent most of last season injured would be a bit ridiculous however.

FFC1987

Arsenal factoring in that their was perceived interest in a permanent deal from Bournemouth so that's likely why nothing has been done yet with Nelson.

That's why Cairney got a new 1 year deal i have heard the players we are going for have multiple options from different clubs and we are being turned down by the players and agents we are now looking at plan C players that clubs are finding difficult to shift

When are we signing Phil Jones?

Might be better off signing Paul Jones and Manfred Mann

His stats going back through the seasons are very, very good. So high on progressive passes, carries, take ons, pass completions, shot creating actions etc. Even got good defensive stats although switched off on a goal or two. Bit wasteful in front of goal last season but not been previously. Basically everything you need to break down a low block!! End of the day we saw a lot of that from him but in minutes he only played 5 or so games.

If, and a big if of course, he can stay fit could be a steal in a years time. Sometimes hamstring ops can work well but often don't of course. Sess has done very well touch wood since being with us. If we pull it off let's pray he can stay fit as if he played a whole season I think he could be a brilliant signing.

Thing is if he only wants us Arsenal don't have much choice. Seems strange Bournemouth were willing to risk that so wouldn't be surprised if it was BS and they were going for a similar deal to us but who knows.
