This window has been like watching a car crash in slow motion, with lots of realtime commentary. This Kevin situation is a microcosm of the whole window.

Reporting Sporting have matched our bid, I think the chances of us getting gazumped are quite real.

Sporting can offer Champions League football... that'll probably clinch it.
maybe true, but they won't get far, premier league is the window to be in to progress unless in top 6 champions league team.

I think Silva was always going to leave at the end of the season. Otherwise he would have put pen to paper a long time ago. He would have wanted to make sure the club were in a position to match his ambition for it. By refusing to make that leap. The owners clearly don't see the point in planning too far ahead.

The big signings of the wingers would have been a clear sign of intent by the owner. However we may well be left with not even that. But with the way the game is going anyway. I am not sure why we as fans get so excited. The game is clearly corrupt at the highest level and clubs like ours are there to make up the numbers.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Our whole approach to transfers seems to be more ambitious than realistic.

We constantly go after players who are currently at clubs playing at some level of European competition, effectively asking them to make a step down. We spend months negotiating with them and making other teams aware of their availability and are then surprised when they turn us down for continued European football.

For many players Fulham will always be a stepping stone, clubs at our level need to focus on trying to bring in players from lesser leagues and hopefully making a profit. Whilst also a risk if the player underperforms the rewards can be bigger and at least we won't get pipped at the post.

It's one thing if we didn't get Kevin and did get Nelson or Bakwa.

But if we do get gazumped for the guy we were clearly prepared to smash our transfer record for and we panic sign Sterling, then it is proof the strategy that has had a mix of failures and successes over the last few years (with more failures than successes) is completely broken and must change.

Hopefully those are just ifs and it's agent nonsense to get Kevin's personal terms over the line.

This will be a season of struggle and doom..mark my words.

Tony will still have his fan boys even if we sign nobody and get relegated.

People are idiots if they think TK has any say other than to sign the papers. Just because stupid people look at a title by his name and think a wrestling promoter is in charge is down to them. One only has to look at past success to realise he has no input.

And Tony will still also have his haters if we sign the intended targets and win the bloody Premier league.

In reality you'll probably just see people say this yeh, this window has ended up being managed poorly if we got no one, where in other windows in recent history it's generally gone pretty well for us.

Ya know. Like a non tribal reasonable position would be.

cos it's not about some blind allegiance ether way, but assessing things on an evolving case by case basis

Mackintosh is just as guilty, he's just fortunate that he gets to hide behind cokehead Tone and his keyboard warrior antics.

Kevin. Why are you moaning about him not signing. He's if he doesn't want to play for the club why waste £40m on him.

More like a slow mo VAR screening.
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

BBC reporting Elliott is going to Villa on loan, so no sell on profit for us?

That's because I have a huge dislike for nepotism, especially one where you put your son in important roles without the qualifications. And here's a Q to Lighthouse: if he has no/little say then why give him the titles at all? Just relinqish the titles.

Then it's about time TK sacked the guys responsible for transfers and brought in a team who are capable of getting the job done because this window will reflect badly on him.

Not sure why people are complaining. We've signed up a set piece coach a 34 year old GK'er and 4 chefs. Ungrateful fanbase.

BECAUSE HE IS THE SON OF THE OWNER AND IS ON THE BOARD. Otherwise why not praise him for all that he has done in the past with transfers? Use a bit of common sense. The game is corrupt and naturally rich owners like to have family on boards.
