Given Silva went nuts that we sold AP with no replacement lined up, you'd have to think that Bobb is very close given we're letting Adama do his medical at Wet Spam today and Silva himself confirmed he'd be leaving

OR.....we have a certain Brazilian backup lined up in case Bobb falls through......

I don't get it, the clubs are negotiating for days, and our first bid is not accepted? What did they discuss then? The weather in London compared to Manchester?

I've seen on another news feed NO fee unless Spam avoid relegation. If they do then they will pay a fee - how much?
Or do we want to see them relegated - defo!

As I think Jay mentioned above, it'll be about specific structures of how its paid, and when its paid basically. How much up front, how much annually after, how much determined on achievements for both player and club, etc etc.

I get it but I do wonder how much of this has cost us players in the past. Maybe its immaterial but who knows.

Geezer on the wireless just said £2m the fee for Traore.

I would imagine almost all clubs negotiate deal structures on vast majority of deals. And given our finances we have to be prudent and acute. Indeed it's that approach that likely even means we're able to throw out bigger fees on these very deals. What's saved in one place can be used to advantage in other deals when needed. It all adds up

As I understand it from FFN if they have good info, the overall value itself is more or less agreed, it's how much of that is up front, how much will be add-ons etc.

Makes perfect sense to protect ourselves there, the reported overall potential value of the transfer is very reasonable as it is if it's as reported. Would make sense if at least 5m if not more of it were based in player and team performance based add-ons and as with the leno and ESR deal that's what well be working towards.

This isn't exclusive to Fulham but we do frequently seem to do it well.

Could be better, but better than walking on a free and paying out this wages and facilitating another winger in. 2m pure profit + 70k pw towards bobb

Likely the right to speak to bobb and agree a deal in principle . Which we reportedly have done. Then ballpark figures, now exact deal structure and add-on details, how much up front etc(for example Emile's deal with arsenal apparently had a couple mil based on European qualification and reportedly further amounts for reaching advanced stages for example) those are the details that we'll be going back and forth on I'd imagine

I heard a couple of days ago it was 2m + bonuses if they stay up.

Slaphead in Qatar

all this indicates to me that Marco has told them he will sign a new contract - we wouldn't be trying to buy like this otherwise.

Quote from: ArcticOctopus on January 26, 2026, 06:09:04 PMDo you think Raul would stay on if we offered him reduced wages and playing time? He seems like such a smart player, it'd be nice if he could stay on as both an emergency striker and mentor to Muniz and (hopefully) Pepi. I don't really have a sense of how much another club would be willing to offer him.
Cairney and Raul on the bench next season is not an outrageous view. Like it more and more.

Raul on 100k wages currently.
As a third striking option that's just not really tenable for a club like us. Just as Adama on 70k isn't either if he's barely playing. Were right on our SCR limits by all accounts, so in order to sign Pepi, bobb a midfielder and increase Wilson's wage, we need to make room for such signings by freeing up wages elsewhere. There's no other way.

You'd need him to chop his wages by half to even start to make it make sense imo. Makes way more sense to replace the third striker position with JKA or ALB type (on around 17k pw)with another year of development under their belt and look to the future instead of blocking those paths to minutes.

Regarding the edit made about needing firepower now at westham agreed. Although latest reports last 24 hrs saying Pepi could be back in 4 weeks. Either way. Can't imagine he'd be going to west ham
To be fair the OP stated that the salary would have to be reduced and i've agreed with him. Agree it would have to be a significant cut but look at the effect Cairney has had coming off the bench.

Sure, and  I acknowledged the wage cut in my reply, but Id be surprised if he accepts an over 50% wage cut to make it make any sense

And even then I don't think it's the right think to block youths path to minutes. Be it ALB or JKA, both cost a minimal amount.

Raul is 36 by the end of next season and he isn't prolific enough as things stand, outside of pens,to warrant the combination of expenditure and blocking youth gametime imo. He's been exceptional value considering his tiny fee. But he doesn't have the same impact on our team that Cairney offers on and off the pitch. TC is a club man, our captain, who's been here a decade and the type to single handedly control a game when we need someone to grab it by the scruff...different impacts.
Fair comment Jay. All depends whether the club think JKA or ALB have the potential to be viable professionals. Interesting dilemma.

Absolutely
Although only one way to find out! Any decision comes with risk of course. ALB on loan this year, JKA to the u21s if we sign Pepi, see how they develop if we sign Joshua in the summer send him or ALB out on loan with the other as third choice.

Lots of people on other sites saying good riddance and things like that.
I'm not going to do that, I'm going to thank him and wish him well, except when they play us.

Absolutely.
Sad trolls all over the internet with nothing better to do with their lives than deride people who've achieved more than they ever will. It's a greater reflection of a persons inner state than it is anything else, to actively seek out saying horrible things about other humans on social media, unprovoked. Even if one thinks he's been poor, what does the action serve other than to elevate ones own ego, to go out of ones way to slag a person off on platforms like X. No truly happy person behaves this way so I hope they're ok.

Anyway. As for Traore, wish him well. Offered very good value for zero transfer fee. A decent first season outside the injury, offered plenty in his second season with our second highest assists behind Robinson. Form fell off this year having brought in more wingers ahead of him and now a good time for us to look forward and wish him well.

Always found him to be a likeable character from all the behind the scenes stuff. Well liked by the players and contributed to fulhams record breaking season last year. His novel pace and strength were entertaining for sure when it came off. All the best Adama.

Yes good luck Adama ,not at the cottage.
