Personally I'm going for ESR his work rate was non stop and a well taken tap in.

From what I heard from GJ, Leno for me with Harry a close second

Fulham 1879

#43
I thought Wilson. Chuk and ESR looked really good on the counterattack, which is really encouraging. We lost the midfield against weak opposition (again). Their attacking midfielders had so much space and time to thread the ball behind our defenders. It made our defenders look worse than they are, although I thought Andersen did struggle. MOTM was Wilson for me, closely followed by Leno.

Wilson by a mile!
Leno good but isn't his performance tonight what you pay him a small fortune to do as routine?
ESR also good.

The likes of Bassey, Berge and Anderson were poor today but they did have several good moments in the game.

Tete somehow got caught up in the general apathy but Iwobi's performance sucked and in his position I believe he affected the team negatively more than anyone else.

Wilson not anyone close though Leno made important saves.
Great result but some worrying gaps at times mainly through the middle. Iwobi not a central type midfielder was quite plain to see and a problem position for us currently.

Hoping the defence can tighten up, Robinson and Bassey struggling on that left side for cohesion tonight.

Still let's celebrate our first win there since 1951 🥳

Our winning goal in 1951 was well offside as I recall. No VAR back then.

Quote from: copthornemike on December 13, 2025, 08:10:10 PMOn a positive Chukweze, ESR, Leno & Wilson were excellent.
Jiminez however another concern as although in the starting XI anonymous. Some will say the service was lacking, but that is starting to be a theme now.

But he dropped back and won the ball away from or harried the Burnley players. He does a lot of dirty work and I really rate him.

Quote from: Slaphead in Qatar on December 13, 2025, 07:39:23 PMHow did the commentator ( Andy Hinchcliffe I think) come to the conclusion Iwobi was excellent tonight. I count about 7 times he passed the ball to a Burnley player.

That really hit me hard at the time. He must have been in the bar

Wilson, followed by Leno(for once)

Iwobi worst player- what's happened to this man?

Burnley ended the game with more xG than us (and our first two goals were both extremely high xG, we didn't create much otherwise and tbh) and they've had 5 big chances. Both are their season highs. So for sure it was a very poor performance and there were many worrying signs, but the important thing is we won in the end. Hopefully some of our players can learn from this and do better in the upcoming games. We'll take the positives (the results first and foremost) and move on. Let's hope we perform much better against Newcastle in the cup.

It was introduced in 1863 and required 3 not 2 players ahead of the ball. I never liked it then and I don't like it now.

If so, I apologise- I thought it was introduced much later!
Not sure how sniffer got away with so many goals!?

He cheated. That is why Leeds liked him.

Because his timing in getting into scoring positions was superb.

Leno for sure as without his stops we would have been well beaten. Defensively very poor & in transition.

Bobsffc

Good to see Leno putting in such a solid performance, but for me it has to be Wilson. Two great assists, one superb goal. He's nailed down his starting position, and is in the form of his life.

acji

Leno just ahead of Wilson.
Odd how not too long ago neither was being that great.

Side note, I was quite impressed by Florentino (on loan from Benfica) and Ugochukwu who I wouldn't have minded us signing in the summer. Given Burnley are v likely to go down, I wouldn't mind us enquiring about both, as they're decent ages at 26 & 21 respectively and think in a better squad with better players around them could do pretty well
