I do think we need to reel in the Europe talk a bit. We go from relegation contenders/Europe-bound everytime we lose/win a game  ::wink::

Andrew

I love the idea of a European adventure  but the head says our squad would not cope, just to remind you yesterday was daylight robbery (and I loved it that ot was our turn) but it should have been two defeats and very poor perfomances in a row.

If we really do qualify for a European tournament I would want us to be able to be able to make a good show and remain safe in the Prem. That would need proper investment in good time because these tournaments kick in early.

Yes, one game at a time and keep
a level head and stay rational.
Which I can understand can be difficult at times, nevertheless wise words.
Bearing in mind we are also still in the FA Cup, and it is time Fulham had their name engraved on it as Winners.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

The thing is, we look at ourselves and see some variable performances and a lot of close games, but everyone else below the top 3 is experiencing exactly the same. If we keep picking up points on these fine margins, and get a bit of luck, it's not impossible (tho still unlikely).

My feeling is that the strength of Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle's squads mean they can finish stronger than anyone else, but they're not very consistent, will take points off each other and will be too arrogant to notice one of the 4-5 other smaller clubs in with a chance coming up the inside.

But I think Europe seems quite likely at this point. We have the strength across positions, the bench is always good, and I can't see motivation being an issue given we are within touching distance.

That said, once today's games are done we will probably be 10th.

In qualifying for Europe, we'd need four home grown players trained at the club as part of the squad.

So that would be King, LDF, Sessegnon and one other.

Ridgeon next season. Europe would be a great opportunity to see what he and LDF could do. That's assuming it was a level or two below champions league where you would have to go first team of course.

Could also have Ali Wahid or Loupalo-Bi

I'm not getting ahead of myself but if Ch*lsea lose by 12 goals this afternoon we'll move up to 6th place?

Agree. The table state is ridiculous. 2 points off Champions League, 6 points above 15th. Going to be so many ups and downs, but I'm optimistic we won't tail off as much as we did last season.

Shame we can't count TC. 12 years at the club and feels like homegrown.

Looking a little unlikely at the moment. Maybe if Palace score quickly they can get the other 13

And I'll reverse my ban on half & half scarves if we do qualify (unless of course we're playing an English team).
I never get the scarf but I've got the mug  -  never used.
I remember the official Europa League scarves  ::scarf::

I didn't buy one in Hamburg for the final as I thought at €20 it was too expensive but probably regret that decision now!
I did and still have it tucked away in pristine condition. Maybe I should dig it out just in case.

They were selling them at the club shop for £3 at the close season ! The Hamburg semifinal one was a nice shade of blue as I remember... That was also on sale ! ::scarf::

What the club does this window will also play a role. We can afford the form of the last 10 games from last season. Need to keep pushing.

I am pretty confident we are going to get top 8, we just need to see how many Euro spots there is going to be this time
