As it's silly season

Garcia popping the finest champagne on socials got some wondering if it's a done deal

:slap:  Gotta love the frenzy of the summer

That looks very much like Madrid/Bernabeu from that one shot.

It looks like the view from an old dump of a building I used to live in on Brixton Hill  ::cry::

Well one can agree a deal anywhere in the world 🤣 Qucik someone check if we had a plane in Madrid from Farborough in the last 24 hrs  :slap:

Citizen Smith

That´s definitely Madrid in the background, behind the champagne, so he appears to be celebrating something at home. Has he finally got his dream move to the Cottage?

For that kind of money I think we should go for Charlie Cresswell

Crazy we sold Diop without having a replacement ready to go.

It sounds like Nwaiwu's club has been moving the goalposts continually.

I think it depends on circumstances that are unknown to us. Had we not sold him when we did, we may not have been able to sell him at all this summer. It didn't seem any established P.L. club was keen on him. Had we put Ipswich on hold, they may have signed someone else for his position. What, then, for Diop and the Club? If he doesn't want to drop down to the Championship (why would he?), he can pick up his wages here and leave on a free next summer.

i agree - the player clearly wants move and as a right sided fast CB exactly the profile that AA's high line needs - however whilst FFC clearly negotating 'hard' the turkish team seem to change their minds constantly and also think just cos we are a prem team that we should just pay up whatever they want and however they want.  Fulham would have put performance type clauses in they probably want E30m with no add-ons

more interesting today is that the unspoken (need to move anderson on) has now been spoken - he's deffo NOT suited to AA-ball

From what I understand, Fulham offered the exact price they asked for, it appears they were not expecting that, so they changed it all again.
I don't know how factual that is, but I was told in good faith.

But we hear this every summer.
All these moves fall through and it's always because the other club didn't play nice or fair.

Well to be fair for most of last season he was the 4th choice centre back. Now I happen to think he was one of our better centre backs at one point or another during the season, but he wasn't a regular starter. We aren't competing in Europe so it could be argued an academy player could take the 4th choice spot, and it just so happens that we have Luc de Fougerolles, so I don't think this is worst case scenario territory.

Personally I would like to see us bring someone in who is capable of starting for us, someone like Charlie Cresswell.

So 3 weeks and 1 day since Arbeloa signed, we have signed nobody except for JKA who was signed before Arbeloa joined. We are not even close to signing one. I wonder what he must be thinking about Fulham and TK now.

I guess he's thinking 'I hope we manage to get these players in that I wanted', I'd imagine he's got a very good idea of how transfers work.
