Quote from: Angus Telford on August 31, 2026, 10:25:30 PMThe only way we get Larsson ahead of Palace is if we offer a bumper salary which is basically how we ended up with the economic liability Anderson.

Similarly selling Tete age 30 for £5-10m at best and paying €25m for Ratiu age 28 sounds like pretty poor business.
The price being quoted for Tete appears to be £9.5 million, which is decent business

Ah well that's Tosin and Sanchez gone so we can forget about any transfer fantasises around those two.

Frankfurt want to sell him, so there's talk of loan with option/obligation which wouldn't be the end of the world.

Tete's fee would be £9.5m for which if we buy Ratiu for circa £20m means he's almost paid half the fee of, and he's pure profit for SCR purposes too. Ratiu is also on peanuts (comparatively speaking) at Rayo so he wouldn't command a huge salary so not such a massive financial dent
And he's almost 3 years younger than Kenny (2 years, 8 months) with a MUCH better injury history...and presumably he'll be an upgrade, especially in the new manager's style.

Matsima would be my preference of all the RCB's we've been linked to.
If we pull that off, I'd be very satisfied.
If...

Good. I missed that. Where did they go?

Chelsea have accepted offers from Tottenham for winger Mykhailo Mudryk and defender Tosin Adarabioyo, as well as a bid from Italian club Como for goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

As for Ratiu... I have always thought very highly of Kenny Tete, and have loved seeing him in a Fulham shirt. I think he's an elite 1 v 1 defender, when healthy, plus he seems to be a popular teammate... Unfortunately, he's been fit to play something like an average of 22 games per year during the 6 years he's been at Fulham. He's on very high wages with his latest contract, and he turns 31 in 5 weeks. It doesn't feel nice to sell him, and 9.5mil doesn't seem like a lot of money in today's market, but it probably makes sense. Also, we bought him for about 3.5mil.
Suitability to the attacking & pressing system is the other big factor here. Ratiu is the kind of athlete that compares to Robinson on the left. He can run, and with great pace, for 90+ minutes, like Jedi, plus he's a skilled attacking player and fierce defender. It's worth pointing out that if you look up who have been recorded as the fastest players in La Liga, you'll see that #1 is Kylian Mbappe, and #2 is Andrei Ratiu.

Not going to lie was kind of hoping that Chelsea would be so desperate to get rid of Sanchez we might be able to pick him up on a loan at the last minute tomorrow (with Chelsea even paying some of his salary). He may not be great but he'd be a meaningful improvement on our incumbent.

Trading Tete for Ratiu while gaining short term FFP flexibility is a smart move.

Tete on his day was a treat.

Honestly it baffles me that there people who wants to see Sanchez at Fulham. Hes been a liability for years, you'd think his game against us would deter anyone from ever wanting to see him in our shirt. Just baffling basic mistakes.

Leno isnt what he used to be, I agree, but Id have him everyday of the week instead of RB. Our gk spot needs to be addressed but the solution is not buying a less capable but  more expensive goalkeeper

I would like to see today a RCB, RB (if Tete goes), CM and a RM come through the door. If we don't then we will need to rally behind the team as always even though we will be disappointed.

Here we go for Larsson

Interesting signing. Never heard of the guy. Is he more Danny Murphy or Steve Sidwell?
Arsenal and Man utd were sniffing around him last season and being quoted 70m+ we are paying 25m

Trusty Steed

He had some big suitors a year or so ago, but this past season he's had a massive drop off. Hence why the original 60-70m, is now 25m.
Hopefully we can get him playing again

He's quality
But form fell off a little last year. Highly rated on the come up but now Frankfurt needs to sell in current financial position. Good physical profile, 6ft 2, can occasionally strike one from distance and can play DM too albeit predominantly a CM

22 but plenty bundesliga and international appearances already
