I wouldn't mind this, very quick and direct. Fits the attacking fullback role if we can't get Ratiu

I like him, very quick and skilful. Fits the attacking fullback role well if we can't get Ratiu

Has hardly played and struggled to get proper game time or be a starter at Bayern and Galatasary. Feel Tete would be better kept than bringing him in.

Anyone else got the feeling this deadline day could go either very well or not that well at all?

Feel like we're on the line in trying to scope out decent/good options, and throwing in the kitchen sink and getting anyone in just for numbers, which would be poor for the transfer team if so.

I think it's fair to say most posters would consider me more optimistic in my posting, but if we sign Sascha Boey I will be mortified. He's crap, never plays for Bayern because of that + often injured and he appears to have lost all his pace as a result. If we sign him it is a step back, we may as well keep Tete if I'm honest because at least he's a good defender, Boey doesn't really excel at anything and the fact Bayern paid €30m for him is hilarious in how misplaced that money was

Start of last season he played a part in all of Bayerns 9 opening games (they won all 9) before getting injured and going out on loan to Galatasaray (who Bayern bought him for 30m from) where he started most games. He's got good Champions league experience and experience playing for title winning sides.
Whether he is better than Tete remains to be seen but he is definitely the more attacking fullback which is the profile we are trying to move too.. is also 5 years younger with resale value.
Ratiu would be my preference but i don't think a move for Boey would be terrible if it did get done.

Sunderland signing Malik Fofana someone I think would have been a good signing.

I am not anti Tony Khan, but this feels about as far away from a well-thought out window as we could possibly have.

Haha I would rather have Ratiu but I do think Boey fits the mold of a pacey attacking fullback with good experience, I see Galatasaray are also trying to make the move permanent but not prepared to pay the 20m fee.

*when hes not injured.

Deeping_white

Boey has missed over 40 games in the last 3 seasons due to injury. We need someone who can play every week or we're staring at only having Castagne available and that's not good enough for a team aspiring for better than being stuck at the bottom end of the table

FFC007

All seems to be too chaotic and disorganised today.

If only we did our business early.

@jolslover

Who's peoples CB preference? Have been linked with 5/6 names today

Tomori would be great for me (wanted Ait Boudlal but that seems dead now).
Affengruber looks good on the ball and reads game well but perhaps not as physical/strong as others
Matsima/Gabriel also linked

Matsima and Tomori are my wishlist signings. Ideally wanting both.

We did... we signed a striker and two midfielders early. The CB situation wasn't really the club's fault.

Hardly? They sold Diop and let us go into the season with only one RCB who's proven himself to be a liability (and was suspended for our first game).

If he has missed that number of games then it looks like he is a good swap for Tete

I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

How is it not? We sold Diop ages ago and still haven't got a replacement in. We should really learn not to sell players without having their replacement already lined up. It's simple stuff.

SimonDaviesEnjoyer

I'm talking about the replacements, it sounds like we were messed around pretty badly by selling clubs.

They were right to sell Diop, Andersen is better, but neither really fits under Arbeloa.

If we hadn't sold Diop, he would just be sitting there as a spare part and then potentially run his contract down if Ipswich moved on to another target. We got a seriously good price for him.

Congrats to the club on actually doing some decisive early business for once.

Polishing a turd that.
