Quote from: SimonDaviesEnjoyer on September 01, 2026, 12:15:37 PMI'm talking about the replacements, it sounds like we were messed around pretty badly by selling clubs.

They were right to sell Diop, Andersen is better, but neither really fits under Arbeloa.

If we hadn't sold Diop, he would just be sitting there as a spare part and then potentially run his contract down if Ipswich moved on to another target. We got a seriously good price for him.
Agreed, especially when you compare it to what Chelsea supposedly got for Tosin (who I know is not loved by folks here, but is a better CB than Issa).

Controversial but I wouldn't mind having Tosin back, pretty decent in the air and not slow. Prone to the odd error when losing concentration. Spurs paying just £7m plus add ons. Seems like a great deal.

That being said, he's probably on big wages, so that would be an issue.

Yep. Deal off.

Chaotic.

Tomori seems to be on - in terms of the player wanting to come and Milan willing to sell. But - apparently fee needs to be agreed, which I assume needs to happen before he gets on the plane?!

However, just seen this on Twitter (no idea if this is a reputable source):

Based on this - Affengruber looking more likely....?

Honestly it baffles me that there people who wants to see Sanchez at Fulham. Hes been a liability for years, you'd think his game against us would deter anyone from ever wanting to see him in our shirt. Just baffling basic mistakes.

Leno isnt what he used to be, I agree, but Id have him everyday of the week instead of RB.
Honestly, it baffles me that there are people who would prefer Leno over Sanchez. Leno has been a liability for years. You can't make too much of one match, you need to look at the entirety of a season and over the last two the gulf between the two is massive. Sanchez has prevented +3.8 goals over the past two seasons, Leno -10.7. Yeah, Sanchez might make a few more howlers that aren't necessarily captured by the shot stopping stats, but I'd take that for the vastly superior shot stopping. I obviously wouldn't have wanted him as a long term solution but I'm so desperate to replace BL that it looked like a half way decent, slightly realistic last minute season long loan option (obviously not now, though).

Quote from: LC on September 01, 2026, 12:38:32 PMJust reading stuff online so it looks like we're getting two central midfielders in Hugo Larsson and Manuel Ángel.

Not seeing to much regarding a centre back, right back or winger which we really need. I doubt we'll be brining 5 players in today. My guess is we're bringing in two midfielders to free up Iwobi to play further up the pitch.
There have been several CB links (Matsima, Tomori, Affengruber)

I don't know much about them but I have seen Fikayo Tomori play and he would be a good signing for us. Still nervous about our forward line to be honest, would like to see a winger come in

Quote from: Bassey the warrior on September 01, 2026, 08:32:01 AMIf we sign Larsson I'm assuming Iwobi will be moved forward, either to LW or RW. It's not really worked out in CM. If so, we'd have an embarrassed of riches in those three positions behind the striker:

Iwobi, King, ESR, Kevin, Palacios, Bobb, Zepa.

I can see Zepa going out on loan.

Then there's a question of which two start in CM from Berge, Charles and Larsson. Personally I think Charles has done enough to start.
I don't know but Iwobi maybe moved on perhaps we see some departures before the Door Slams closed.

Can't see us selling Iwobi, no chance.

Affengruber definitely sounds like the most likely CB signing at the moment.

10m EUR fee being reported as agreed.

Don't usually get stressed over the last days of transfer windows but this time 🥴 My old van due for MOT shortly might be adding to the situation.

Full agree - Too many FFC fans get hung up on keeping the status queue, no matter how much the stats prove otherwise

According to Gemini he's not the quickest and his passing is very safe. Is he actually better than Diop?

At this rate Shea Charles will be playing RCB.

Personally I'm happier with the cash for Diop than having two lumps at CB, plus potentially recouping nothing for Diop and a big loss on Andersen. They did the right thing.
I don't think anyone is doubting that we should have sold Diop, more that we shouldn't have sold him and then waited more than a month to get a replacement in.

Agree. TK is playing a dangerous game not having a RCB in already. It's one thing to be filling out the squad by waiting for the best deals at the end of the window. This is the opposite. Fulham need a RCB, everyone knows it. Going to be very fortunate if we end up with quality. Whoever the club get I doubt it will be a top choice for what they stylistically wanted.
I believe 2/3 offers have gone in for players, but have been turned down, also gone back and offered more, were selling clubs waiting further interested parties to up their game?.
I guess most will blame TK as usual.

He's quicker than all of of our CB's except for potentially Bassey - he definitely has enough pace to play in this system

EDIT: He's actually been clocked faster than Bassey so he's very mobile in that case

Who are these players we are signing never heard of any of them utter shambles of a window in my opinion.

Not really interested in piling on Tony Khan specifically, but clearly the club could have moved quicker to get the centre back in. Tomori was placed on the transfer list by Milan two weeks ago - if he is one of our top targets then surely we could have persuaded him to join at that point?

It's pretty obvious he wasn't one of our top targets. We clearly would have preferred one of the younger options we've been reading about for weeks, but apparently for one reason or another we couldn't make a deal for any of them so here we are...

Problem you have there is player and agent have time to weigh up said offers? Likelihood we sit a bit further down the food chain until options start to diminish for player/s

Apparently his top speed is faster than Bassey fwiw. He's much quicker than Anderson. Not a speedster but not slow either. Tomori is considerably quicker than both - sounds a distinct possibility we get 2 which I would assume would mean an Anderson departure.

As for moving quick on Tomori, We have been bidding on CBs all summer, I think the targets we wanted outright seemed to be Nwaiwu, Ait Boudlal, of which we were bidding the last couple months, their clubs haven't let them go after very big bids from us. Other options were Matsima, Le Guen, all who we've apparently been in contact with but no go there either from their clubs so...Tamori seemed always like a potential option that would go late as a good choice if the young lads we've been throwing money at didn't come good. Who knows if we'll end up with 2 though
