Let's hope that's not an indicator?

Oh well, another 300 pages on this thread to go until then.. we might sign someone before then?

Sebastian Berhalter is available on a free this summer. Has been a top 5 MLS midfielder for goal contributions, has broken into the USMNT and is still only 25. Would be a great addition.

Be interesting to see whose going to throw money at John Stones next season now it's announced his leaving City. Good centre back on his day but injury record of late is a worry. Type of player I could see Chelsea go for they need experience no transfer fee so could pay over the top wage. Whether he'd come South not sure? Newcastle might suit? Everton return? Might depend whether he might need a few more million for a rainy day?
Certainly one we won't be in the mix for!

Read yesterday that the Pepi deal definitely dead and as hinted by some weeks ago he failed the medical probably to do with knee op he had in 2025.

Quote from: hopper on April 27, 2026, 11:24:24 AMHarvey Elliott has become a forgotten man after Villa have decided to not play him in order to avoid triggering permanent deal.

Risk would be that we might already have too many shorter players atm and don't really need another one.

I wonder if the FA/referees will signal that they want a slightly less physical version of the PL next season, and go back to giving away free kicks for fouls at corners and long throws again.

There's no doubt it's made the league more boring, with teams less interested in playing the best football they can, and spending more time on the percentages.

If they do that early enough, it could see a shift in transfer strategy from teams, as they can worry less about whether a player is a 6 ft 3 brick outhouse or not and buy some ball players instead.

Speaking of ball players, there should be a fair few good ones on display tonight in PSG v Bayern

They need to do something because this has been one of the worst seasons in recent memory.

I doubt it, that would be too much to ask for.

That story has been debunked. Pepi apparently didn't fail a medical. Has been shared on various fulham platforms.

My comment was not based on old rumours but brand new information that has come to light. Only time will tell if we revisit him.

So was what I said - there was a new 'exclusive' pushing the story in a tabloid/news outlet, which was apparently debunked.. wasn't it the Express that carried the 'story'.. They're hardly reliable are they.

Always interesting to go through some of the players that may be relegated - there's quite a lot of quality individually that would strengthen us.

Wolves
- Joao Gomes
- Andre
- Arokodare (was a target before Wolves move)
- Krejci
- Mateus Mane

Burnley
- Maxime Esteve
- Hartman

A difficult one with Raul.
On form 50/50
On season's performance overall keep as no. 2/3 Striker
Money would have to drop significantly.
On loyalty we keep him but today's world no place for sentimentality.

Niclas Füllkrug, anyone?
Hardly used by Milan this season.
Only downside, he's 33.

Even bigger downside, he was terrible at West Ham.

With our aging squad, oldest in the PL, plus a few players either off our well out of form. It feels like the club are going to have to bite the bullet on many fronts. We will need to sell of a few players who we will no longer receive a decent fee for (Robinson and Muniz), Let Wilson go on a free, ideally bring in a new 1st choice striker and a backup, release/replace TC, Reed, Leno, Castagne etc.

This summer is pivitol and it may also come with a new manager search
