Just a few notes from reading.

JKA - We already paid a big loan fee, so negotiating the final fee lower is definitely smart business. Maybe wasn't ready for senior football straight away, but anyone who watched him in the 21s could see he's talented. Potential is big.

Berge - Echo what others saying, he's a lot better than he gets spoken about. I think he is like Onomah, where he is a jack of all trades, but needs to play in a box to box role to succeed. He's playing as an AM for Sheffield at times. Would like to see him next to a proper CDM.

Nwaiwu - Would be a huge coup if we can get him. Would probably increase chances of Bassey signing a new deal too. He's class.

Right sided...

So we could have our Fulham first ever Nigerian CB pairing? Obviously I think this is just rumours, we don't even have a manager yet

With regards to Berge I tend to disagree as I don't see him being a box to box as to slow and just don't think he has a lot of attacking attributes. Not sure what his goalscoring history is over his career but would be amazed if it raised an eyebrow? Just my opinion but if we were in The Championship he would be our Kevin McDonald but in premiership I don't see him being anything other than a squad type player. There be times when he can be effective in defensive role when it's more back to the walls type game and we need a bit of muscle but over a season campaign I don't think we improve much more than we are at the moment.

Deuce

Former Sweden and Norway coach Lars Lagerbäck said that Berge was the best Norwegian player he coached. Great at reading the play, great positioning.

Berge was never a crowd pleaser but im sure he is exactly that kind of player that we will miss more than people think once he is gone, and we will most surely  get paid far less than what he is actually worth-  looking at what he ( quietly) brings to the team

He had 2 seasons at Sheffield when he had more freedom. 11 GA and 8GA. He is capable.

I remember an early interview with him, where he said he was working a lot with Silva early on to adapt to a new role, be more disciplined etc.

He'd flourish alongside a Joao, but that's another convo ha!

Quote from: Deeping_white on June 18, 2026, 04:22:36 PM€3m offer rejected for JKA & expected we go back in with another bid. Reckon it might be somewhere between €6-10m as he's into the last year of his contract

It's an odd one for me. When we signed him there was quite a bit of hype but I can't particularly recall anything positive that he did in his fleeting appearances for the senior team. I saw him in the flesh v Wycombe and he was really quite poor. Maybe he did a bit more in the almost comeback v Man City. I guess someone thinks he could develop significantly.
Was there that much hype? If I recall it happened at the eleventh hour on deadline day and we all were saying how desperate it is that it was the best we could do and that he would be third choice at best (which he was).

I don't mean hype in anticipation as it came out of the blue, more that there was talk afterwards of him being baby Isak with lots of talent. Mind you, after Isak's ropey season the comparison may not be wrong.

JKA is still 18 years old. Soon to be 19. I'm not sure what people expected of him considering his lack of experience in senior football and maturity. If the club have seen enough of him to suggest a bright future then maybe he's worth investing in and sending him out on loan for a season. That's what other clubs do before introducing young players to their first team squads.

Yeah, don't understand the skepticism about signing a rangy, 6'5 teenage striker who has shown the ability to finish with the U21s. Plus he already kept up athletically at the senior level in his appearances, especially in the air. Add on his price is likely gonna be 6 to 8 million? This is the exact kind of back of the squad buys the club should be making. Very low risk, high reward.

Think JKA will prove a powerhouse of a striker in a couple of years. So 9 million
Is worth it.

Rumour mill in full swing with Wilson to Leeds once more.

One of our biggest GA contributors in recent seasons and will be another big gap we need to fill like Andreas was - maybe underrated or overlooked by some.

Another squad number down too.

Bassey the warrior

I don't understand why we're (alledgedly) trying to sign a centre back and right back as we have plenty of depth. Conversely, we have one striker and absolutely no rumours.
