Losing the must-win matches: inexcusable.

Even more this season, which has been so promising in so many fits and starts, than last, Fulham's inability to win - or even to draw - the must-win (must-draw) matches is galling. More than a dozen points dropped to bad teams or from winning positions.

On some occasions, Silva has been entirely to blame for idiotic line-ups and individual selections as well as his penchant for playing not to lose instead of playing to win (see: today and every time he has subbed Diop in to 'tighten-up' defensively with a back 5 that has resulted in a opponent's goal).

On most occasions, though, points have been inexplicably dropped - and to some truly bad squads - by leaking bad goals for which every defender and Leno have been culpable. It's an epidemic of yips. If someone could possibly lose his man or guess wrong or dive in: done. That is exactly what happens, and the opposition invariably finishes in ways that Fulham's attack just does not.

From another's post, perhaps it does come down to having a true captain on the pitch - i.e. not Andersen, who offsets moments of grit and solid play with cataclysmic gaffes. Same goes for Bassey and now Cuenca - and though Sess was not great today, I cannot see how Robinson gets back on the pitch barring injury. His last four matches were not good enough to earn a start for an MLS team.

And do not get me started on Cantstandya. He might be a great guy, but he is a truly horrible football player. Every time an opposing wing runs at him, he is done, and somehow, he has no idea where to be on crosses and corners. Thank Christ Tete is healthy.

Now, if only the 'defensive' 'minds' can sort out what the what is happening in critical moments...

Today's second half was embarrassing, and Silva's descending into Sulk Mode after his own halftime talk was evidently titled "Take Your Foot of the Gas" deserves a top-down post mortem.

So sad that such a talented squad, one good enough to finish as high as sixth, finds more ways to lose than to draw or win. Who can change that mentality? The fact is if Silva cannot figure this out and get this club over the "Aren't they cute? They finished 10th" hump, he needs to go. The only way that happens is not dropping points like this.

Is relegation a possibility? West Ham in good form. Points very tight in the table from 10th place down.

Somerset Fulham

KentFulham

Its a good point RE relegation. There will be a lot of teams in contention for the last spot

I would say it is not impossible, any team could be in trouble if they go on a really bad run for 8 to 10 games. The gap with west ham now is 11 pts, could be down to 8 after the mid week game against city.

The problem this season is that there is way too much inconsistency amongst the mid table teams. The team occupying the european spots changes every week. Teams taking turns to go on a bad run. There are also teams such as forest n leeds that seem capable of beating anyone on their day.

My feel is that 44 pts will be needed for safety this season. The sooner we achieve that total the better it will be for my nerves. No easy or sure win games.

Decent odds that, I took 2/1 yesterday at HT for Everton Draw/Win. If anything it paid for the day out and the commiserations beers

There is more chance of you being bitten by a Dinosaur than Fulham getting relegated.

Some overreaction on here but all things considered we are looking exactly like a mid table side and we will finish somewhere between 10th and 14th in my opinion. Good in spells but inconsistent. Defensive lapses have costed us all season.

Yep, it is frustrating.  We've seen this movie before, last season and season before that.  Just can't seem to take that next step up the table, usually against teams we can reasonably be expected to beat.  Oh well, such is the lot of being a FFC fan.  This season can take a turn, rather quickly, for FFC and any number of other clubs, in either a positive or negative direction.  Only ten points separate 6th place and 16th.

All I've read in this post is Blah, Blah Blah🤔

We are Fulham which is where as all fans know Fulhamish comes from its as simple as that.

COYW we will be where we deserve to be after 38 games
