This should be a Fulham anthem

The Lurkers were an early UK punk band with a similar sound to The Ramones that resided in the Fulham area

Rumor has it that the drummer/songwriter Pete Esso Haynes was a relative of Johnny's

It's quite simple, all you have to do is switch the word Shadows to Fulham and you've got a winner

Fulham Fulham Fulham
Fulham Fulham Fulham Fulham
My hearts in the Fulham
His  hearts in the Fulham
Fulham Fulham Fulham
So on

Quite Genius if I don't mind saying so myself

Whitestone

Great track. I've got a copy of the single.

Rupert

I can see the first two lines catching on, but after that, too many words.

Maybe just repeat the first two lines over and over.
Any fool can criticise, condemn and complain, and most fools do.

I'm old enough to remember actual Hammersmith End anthems -
'Hello, hello, we are the Fulham boys,
we are the Hammersmith End, we are, oh yes we are,
we will follow you Fulham.'

Also, an adaption of West ham's 'I'm forever blowing bubbles' -

'I'm forever blowing bubbles, pretty bubbles in the air,
they fly so high, nearly reach the sky,
just like West Ham, they fade and die.
Chelsea's always running, Arsenal's running too,
We're the Fulham Hammersmith,
running after you.'

Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger!

If Blingo was a fan of either, there's definitely nothing wrong with U2 (early U2 anyway), and The Police were a great band (though I agree Sting's solo stuff is not really up there!).

I'd never heard of The Lurkers personally (bit before my time!  ::tongue:: ), but thanks for sharing.  ::thumb::

I don't remember that one musta been before my time, Rod Stewart's I am sailing - we are Fulham was the one I remember which eventually got cheapened when they added the F**K CHELSEA part in later years

Sid Vicious born 1957.

Johnny Rotten born 1956.

Steve Jones born 1955.

Paul Cook born 1956.

Bongo's generation invented punk rock.

It may well be my memory but I remember it as:
Hello, hello, we are the Fulham boys
Hello, hello, we are the Fulham boys
And if you are a Chelsea fan surrender or you'll die
We all follow the Fulham

and so on and so forth...

Pretty much Piri. Lol. But then I love classical music too, and my favourite of favourites... Luciano Pavarotti who I saw live in Hyde park.

They were from Ickenham. The sister of one of my mates went out with the guitarist Pete Stride. At least one of them supported Fulham.

We need something that stirs us, I was at Forest Sunday and the noise their supporters made singing was very impressive.  ::scarf::

'I don't need to tell her' is my favourite Lurkers track....

As regards yesterday they can pick up a head of steam Forest fans but Mull of Kintyre won't be going on my playlist any time soon...good day out yesterday aside from the train carnage..
