Like Kevin, Bobb needs time to find his place...please give them time

I just don't buy this whole time nonsense. Too many FOF posters hinge everything on time. You pay top dollar, then performance is expected. This whole time thing is just an excuse to tolerate terrible performances. Such as ESR, Muniz, Bobb, Chuk

Since when has £30 million been top dollar? Yes it is a good fee but prices are moving on for the best players.

I def regard 30 Mil. to be top dollar

I'll clutch onto his first half performance against Spurs I think it was ?
as an example of what he needs to build on in the future

Quote from: perry geyton on April 18, 2026, 05:21:38 PMWhat exactly is his role in this team ?

He came on today and was completely non existent, to be fair the whole team was non non existent other then Leno and TC who put in a shift considering how drab we were

30 million pounds worth ? We all wanted him so know one can really complain or was it just hype cos we got him from Man City ?

Hoping he improves, he better improve

Thirty million pounds!!! Think how many Darren Freeman's, Simon Morgan's and Micky Conroy's (in their prime) Fulham could have bought back in the day. I think FFC have been proper Arthur Daley'dddd with Bobb. Certainly, he wins an Oscar for just going through the motions...lol

I get it and I did say I want him to come good of coarse BUT I just don't see anything in him so far and what role he plays
No flare in his play whatsoever

Next season we will see

So many better criticisms you could make of Bobb. ie his strength and being lightweight but you have said he has no flair. Do you ever watch any of our games? It is clear the one thing he does have is dribbling ability and even in the Brentford game he had one nice moment where he beat a defender with some skill and won a free kick

30m about the going rate for an average Prem player and that's what Bobb is - bang average - game off its rocker.

SG

Like so many of these players mentioned in the thread they don't get a run in the side. They need a run of continuous games in their favoured position. Does Silva know their best position and a style of play that suits them. It doesn't seem like it to me. Rotation is fine but we have had few injuries over the past weeks and yet we are still to have a settled side. Apart from the back 5 I am not clear what his favoured team and their positions are

Same with Smith Rowe.

Logically, isn't every signing a player the selling club didn't want to keep?

How do you know when it isn't?

Not at all lots of players have gone to other clubs who didn't want to sell, players have forced moves.
Money Money Money.

I disagree. Not 'lots'. And the players that have, such as Isak, typically do so to force a move to a club with a greater standing than us.

How many players can you name who have forced a move for themselves to Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton? These clubs are currently our peers. These are the clubs who, like us, sign players that the selling clubs choose to let go for the money they are offered rather than keep.

Bobb, Kevin and ESR are players that Silva wanted and so can only assume they are playing in such a way that he wants them to as with everyone else in the team.

FFC007

More like Bob from blackadder than a footballer.

You are probably right ( though he may blossom) - but as you pointed out on the Marco thread - what do fans expect?
We are a bang average - mid table club - vanilla . We must never get excited.

Exactly. This always happens whenever a new signing doesn't immediately look world class. Most players will take time to settle.

Sorry don't remember that precise moment, next time I'll
Make a note of it
Like I said he def had moments against spurs but I've still not seen enough,

Neeskins for example cost what a 1/10th of what we paid for him and I know who I'd rather watch

One could argue that Chucks gone downhill over time so that arguments can go either way

True, maybe he's been affected by the death of his mum at the end of January, his form was excellent before then.

Tend to agree here, give some time to players like King, Bobb, Kevin, Chukwueze (if he stays).  They're all still quite young and learning.  That said, this is the Big Leagues, The Premier League, and teams like FFC can't wait forever for talent to blossom, or they might find themselves in lower tiers.  Hopefully they all get some time to play as this season ends and then with training and next seasons' pre season they can get up to speed.  Hope they can come good sooner rather than later.

We all wanted our club to move from its reliance on age and experience towards greater focus on young potential. That is what is happening and with it comes a degree of risk. It had to happen now let's show a little patience and give these young players some time to shine.

Rayan who went to Bournemouth looks the real deal. Imagine Kevin on the left and Rayan on the right...

Immense flair, pace and dribbling skills. They would have been a serious threat up top.

We are yet to see Kevin left and Chuck right. I would be pretty interested in that combo.
