As an aside, I'd like to see Coventry go up; they've gone right down the leagues and were homeless for years. For anyone who grew up in the 80's and 90's they were a staple in the top flight

I don't like all the silly claims that we'll 'walk the league with record points', etc. The Championship is a tough league where the games come thick and fast and the refereeing isn't great. However, I think we will go up automatically as we have strength in depth that other teams don't and they will suffer more when key players are injured and trying to fit in two games a week during the winter...

There is squad depth but when Ream and Robinson are played having just flown back from America you have to wonder what Silva was thinking and it probably cost us that game.

Ream and Robinson didn't do anything to lose their place after 13 points of 15 possible.

He's doing wonders early doors with Bournemouth, can't lie, and no one wants to be seen as being wrong
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

Sadly, FFC finding themselves in the rear view mirror of quite a handful of teams.  Need a second half effort v Bristol to turn things around it seems.  COYW!

WindyCity

Oh brother!  Can't hold on to the late one goal lead.  Now tied with 10 mins to go.  Disappointing to say the least......

WindyCity

And you can add Stoke to the thread title as they are even with us on points.   Looks to be a tough campaign, not the cakewalk being touted after the first five games........

COYW!

Eight games gone and we haven't yet been outplayed but the Achilles Heels of missing goalscoring chances has shown itself more than once, if allowed to continue this weakness could cost us promotion, it is a problem that needs sorting before the season continues.

Woolly Mammoth

Nobody is going to walk this League it is naive to make such a statement.
As long as we can find consistency and there will be many key matches between various front runners.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

And on Game Day 9 Parker's team couldn't put a goal past a team with the worst defensive record. And Coventry had 5 put past them by a town famous for wearing HATS

I think our Midfield is paramount to how we fare this season we've  got to get the blend right On a every match basis hopefully we have the personnel to achieve this. I wonder if the left side balance Matt Grimes would've given us more flexibility? Would be nice to see H have a decent injury free spell.

They seem to have it figured out. They won't slip up to the likes of Blackpool it seems. Here's to hoping we figure ourselves out this weekend. Come on Marco and Lads!!

Bournemouth literally slipped up last night
I was there, standing in the Putney end

The Coventry result last night puts pay to the idea that teams in this league, this year, are in any way going to be consistent. Injury problems, tiredness, bad refereeing, etc etc make predictions a lottery. We should stop damning every poor result and performance and over praising every good performance. Last night Fulham had an iffy second half because of injury and formation changes. But won. We have played better and lost this season.

Games remain a lottery and while we can boast a good squad but with the injury problems mounting up. Frankly we can make no conclusions but just be pleased we are still up near the top of the most unpredictable league in the World.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

I love the Championship and its unpredictableness,  consistency as said above is key but that is the case for every season. One game at a time!

This is pretty much my view. The poem 'If' by Rudyard Kipling is particularly appropriate to both our fans premature perspective after the start of the season and a more measured view of how to act under the circumstances.

I like to revisit topics from beginning of the season it's so refreshing to read. How some people are so right and how some people get it so wrong.

As the OP, I actually genuinely appreciate this - and I LOVE being wrong here! How fickle was I?

Admit it's refreshing when we look back at posts, some people said nobody is cake walking this league :-)

Coventry and WBA have it figured out 😂
