I think he was very good for West Brom when they had him on loan in the prem. Started nearly every game and Allardyce liked him .. by that logic he would be good in the Champ

This being said.. we have Chalobah returning and they are similar players

Yep which is why I was asking & got a reminder that Chalobah was on the bench for the last match. But, if there's substance in this, it still makes sense. When we're run at we look pretty feeble at times. Reed is a natural DM but is injury prone, Seri is not a DM and is going to be absent for a crucial part of the campaign. Chalobah has hardly played. Maybe Silva feels he needs both Chalobah and Okay given the backlog of fixtures coming our way. Wouldn't mind two dogs in front of our back four and one of them to bark at Wilson on a regular basis

Bassey the warrior

If we can get him on loan he'd be a top signing, definitely Premier League quality. We also need a left winger to compete with Kebano.

Chalobah plays more of an 8, whereas Yokuslu is an out and out number 6

John Swift at Reading, is this the type of player we should be looking at,
Out of contract in the summer and Reading can't afford to offer him a new one,
Scores goals and creates goals just the type of player we could do with,

Yes a decent player and he would be a good addition.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

Swift is good, but he's injury prone and v one-footed.

With only 6 months left on his contract, I'd be more interested in Cantwell from Norwich, who's really been off the boil for a bit, but could be perfect if moved back into the middle.

Talking of Englishman ending their contracts soon, I'd also lump Ben Mee, Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah into the mix too.

Some great names here. Wouldn't mind them all!

Ideal window for me personally

In

Todd Cantwell - loan (option to buy)
Okay Yokuslu - Loan (option to buy)

Out

Cyrus Christie
Anthony Knockeart
Domingos Quina - Loan Return

Personally think that would be smart a few additions to freshen it up but have faith in the squad that has us fighting for promotion

So, some clubs were just waiting for the window to open and then they pounced, thus making sure they got there man.
Guess we will wait for window closing day to do any business in the hope we can pick something up from the bargain basement.

West Brom's signing of Daryl Dike (to which I assume your post is referring) can hardly be held up as an example of a club that moves quickly in the transfer market. Ismael wanted him in the summer transfer window, but the Baggies weren't prepared to stump up the fee. Slipping to fourth in the table has, it seems, prompted them to loosen the purse strings. For Baggies' fans who have seen their team manage only 30 goals in 24 games, it must be more a case of what might have been had Dike been signed in August.

Yes, that was the main move that caught my eye and I thought it was a similar situation to us with Grimes. However there have also been a couple of other moves that have already taken place.

With five league matches coming up between 11th and 28th January it would be useful to have any new players signed early.

I have a lot of time for Kebano and think he is clearly the best player we have for that wide left position.
However it would be good to have a player who is clearly better than him but I see no point in signing someone on par with him.

Regarding Cantwell, from what I understand from people ITK at the club, I don't believe he can train most days due to a relatively bad chronic injury which is similar to what happened to Ledley King. I think the situation is a bit worse than he's just dropped form behind the scenes.

MartyFFC

I would say he's satisfactory, but not especially good

Ryan Kent is an outstanding wide left player, but we would have to break the bank if we go up.

When was this? He's never really suffered any serious injuries according to Transfermarkt (he's only missed 8 games in 3 years due to injury) and there's no mention of this on the Norwich forums - they only mention him being bang out of form and not a good tactical fit in their current system.

I'll chase up with my mate who told me but he said its just an injury he's always suffered with since turning pro that overtime, never fully recovered hence not being able to train most days. Don't get me wrong, that could be untrue and heresay to explain why he rarely see's himself in the team consistently, but thought I'd throw in what I heard about him. Presumably, any medicals if a transfer was imminent would highlight this though.

Lots of Championship clubs apparently looking at Matt O'Riley including Scott Parker(one that got away)Always looked to have something about him.

When Scott Parker brought O'Riley on against Reading then later brought him off was the last we saw of him.

Awaiting early action from TK on two fronts, which will he achieve first:-
1. Signing top player to add spark into our attack.
2. Diving into the new pool which was scheduled to be ready for use by Christmas.

Really like the idea of Yokuslu if he was to come, looks like a bit of a beast who breaks up play & wins the ball. Harrison Reed did that but not recaptured his form & playing in a more advanced role
