Sorry no. Unfortunately riddled with injuries and if people can remember as brilliant as he was going forward for us he could not tackle or defend properly.

Neither could Robinson when we signed him.

Robinson has learnt. Since moving to Spurs Sess when he has played and out on loan has shown no improvement in defending whatsoever. How long do you give him.

Hate to be the power of authority guy but.....If Silva wants him, sign him up. I get the negativity with the injury record, but like players we've improved, he just needs the right environment and encouragement and he could get back to those levels that had big clubs desperate for his signature.

I do also like the Bereton Diaz suggestion. He's be great for our forward line options. Works hard, can hold ball up, likes to work channels. Really good competition for Muniz and Jimenez potentially, with the potential, he can also play wide.

Would take him on a free on a heartbeat if I'm honest.

It would be a good story to see him come back and nursed back to health, but it will take a lot of work.

I wouldn't be against the move, if there's room in the squad,  but as we know he's not a left back, so if players like Stansfield & maybe Godo are involved next season I wouldn't want game time taken away from them to aid Sessegnon back to his best.

I assume the suggestion was that with a stable environment under a good coach Sessegnon may still have a lot of room for improvement. Robinson has improved while playing under the same coach for three seasons now, and being mostly injury free. Sessegnon has had a very different experience the last few years.

Not a comment on Sessegnon necessarily, but (injury worries aside) he is probably the type of profile we should consider. Youngish, decent amount of experience in the PL but has had a rough couple of seasons. Also versatile and likely not bank-breaking.

I believe Silva can improve him. Of course, this all depends on wages. He'll need to take a decent hit which he may not feel like doing.

@jolslover

Silva is using Stansfield as a striker (or alongside a striker) not a winger - I read an in an interview

"Now is the moment for him to come back and be one of the players in our attacking line for next season."

Marco Silva at the 10th. Would suggest that he is looking at other positions than striker as well.

Spurs willing to let him go for nothing + Spurs the ones who know the full facts of his injuries = ?

Arsenal let Willian go a year before his contract was due to end - a player leaving on a free is not always a negative for their next club

This article suggests that both his troublesome hamstrings have both now been fixed with surgery:

Personally, I would prefer we sign Ballo-Toure as left back cover and I'm not sure that Sess would be the best we could get as left wing cover.

But he could be a good signing for someone on a free. More likely, he would go to a newly promoted club, where he should get more opportunities..

Not worried about it I know with Marcos suggestions we will be stronger again next season, also that new front 3 had an encouraging start yesterday in sinc with each other will be interested to see the new players in August .
Now to county cricket with the mighty Sussex equalling there wins for last season after 6 games and proudly ,We Are Top Of the League. Now if Fulham can do that next season!

With Ballo Toure you'd think likely departing, LB cover who is also LW cover.
I don't know, I loved seeing him break through for us, but something in my gut at the time felt he was never going to quite cut it at premier league level. I couldn't put my finger on it but I felt he missed that ability to run at players and beat his man 1 on 1 which is such a big part of the game at the top.

A shame if he did return he wouldn't get the guidance of Luis Boa Morte as I think it'd do him the world of good. But I'd of course get behind him massively if he did come back.

I agree that he never seemed to fit as a Premier League player out wide.

My opinion is he belonged centrally at that level, not out wide. Problem now is that injuries and limited playing time may keep us from ever finding out.

For the betterment of his career I hope he drops back to the Championship for game time and to get back on track. The Premier League is the wrong place to try to achieve that.

I'd love to have Ballo-Toure but based on his body language yesterday and lack of game time this season, I don't think he'll want to return.

Since we've been linked with him before, Chelsea are asking for £25 million for Chalobah.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/05/20/chelsea-to-stick-to-25m-asking-price-for-trevor-chalobah/

Seems a bit steep, but about the same that we paid for Bassey and were bidding for Morato.
