Quote from: JackHamlet90 on June 05, 2024, 07:45:38 AMRealistically we are not spending 90m on players
Mitrovic went last year
For slightly more money than we received for him we brought in Jimenez Adama Castagne Bassey & Iwobi.

I would expect similar this year
If for example we spend 60m on Nketiah & Smith Rowe with additions elsewhere going to say 100m we are going to balance books by selling Palhinha or Robinson.
Willian & Tosin off the wage bill will also help.
Fulham will go in with low bids early summer exploring with a loan or 2 as it goes on we always do the same

We signed mitro for around £25m and sold him for around £50m - so I would suggest it's more than "slightly higher" (nearly double) than what we paid for him.

I do agree otherwise though; if we're spending "big" on multiple positions to the tune of £100m+ - Robinson or Palahina will probably be sold to cover the excess.

Robinson signed for £3m~ and sold for £30m+ probably helps FFP a lot....

I think he means we spent slightly more buying players than we got selling Mitro.

Fair but as you say their salaries and purchase prices are amortised across their contracts so doesn't quite work that way from a FFP balancing point of view.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have circa £90 million to spend this year without selling anyone. The reason we were so tight last year is the championship year was still counting. Not only were our allowable losses lower as the championship year was in the three year period but you have to bear in mind that in the championship year we made a massive loss. The last two years we have been extremely clever in the market so losses have been far lower especially considering the mitro sale. So it is a double whammy with the championship year gone....our massive losses fron that year are gone and we are allowed to lose a lot more after 30th of June.

Just a note re Mitro as well. Although not pure profit I believe the way it works is that you bank the fee received minus what he had left in amortised fees. As he was with us a long time a lot of the £25 million we paid for him was paid off so I would imagine so we will be banking a lot of the sale value for FFP.

I would suggest we have a lot of room left this year then from a tonne of reading on this with the current rules. Next year with the new rules is a whole different ball game so not sure how they will balance things unless they really fee this stand and the money it earns away on top of match days is somehow going to get us where we need to be.

That's where you're wrong, a large contingent of Fulham fans hate the idea of the club doing well. Their support is entirely based on moaning and complaining. They seek out the cloud.

What a moronic statement.

You really do show yourself up with every post  :slap:

Young attacking midfielder Omari Hutchinson has returned to Chelsea after his successful loan spell at Ipswich Town last season,
They will be desperate to bring him back to Portman Road next season,
But if we could nip in and sign both Hutchinson and Chalobah that would be a great bit of business.

Here is the rest of the release list too.  Shame about Francois, I really hoped he would make it.

Tyrese Francois
Terence Kongolo
Luciano D'Auria-Henry
George Okkas
Caelan Avenell
Ma'Kel Bogle-Campbell
Montague Conway
Armando Broja (end of loan)
Fodé Ballo-Touré (end of loan)

If Ream decides to move on then we may have to find three premier league quality players to replace Ream, Willian and and Tosin . That is a lot of millions just to keep us where we are.

Was surprised by Francois too. Can't help but feel he could be like Matt O'Riley but obviously way too early to tell.

Just looked at transfermarkt to see how many times Sess has played recently... Wow...was shocked. Apart from his dodgy hamstrings burn out will definitely bot be a problem... The last time he had any serious minutes was was maybe Hoffenheim, but in reality his last season with us.

Francois is turning 24 this summer, and his meaningful first team experience consists of a handful of games in Croatias and Denmarks top division (25 or so games in total), both leagues that are generally below Championship level and I havn't seen any reports of him beingd deemed to standing out particularly in either case (mabe he has, I just haven't heard of it). I personally don't think he is even close to competing for a meaningful spot in our squad and he is no longer to be considered very young. To me it appears as logical that he tries to find a club more at his level.

By comparison, Matt O'Riley is the same age but has played three full first team seasons, the last two in a team way above the teams that Francois has represented quality wise (although also in a weak league).

Wolf

Matt O'Riley looked excellent at U21 level, I could never understand people going on about Marlon Fossey rather than O'Riley.

Yet Parker somehow managed to force him away and now he's pulling up trees in the SPL

Depends on who we sign. We signed 3 first team starters last year (Castagne, Iwobi, Bassey), 4 the year before (Palhinha, Pereira, Leno, Willian). We need to use our money effectively, but this is no worse than a normal summer window.

Source is definitely dodgy so take it for what it's worth

This one is quite upsetting if true.

Solid performer and a useful player to have in the squad. If he was offered a new deal he's clearly part of the plans so it's just another position we are gonna have to look at replacing

It depends how you spin it. BDR is probably thinking it's his last major contract, so he might be holding out for a huge salary. Would that be a good idea for the club? He's not going to get any better, we know what he can do, and we might be able to get better. Let's see where it goes.

Bobby seems like a lovely chap. I wish him nothing but the best.

If we want to kick on I can understand this.
