The only way the Stansfield sale would make sense is if we have a buy back option and a large sell on % and it's 12+m up front plus say 3m in addons

Well if he has agreed personal terms, then to me that says he wants to go.

And we have a replacement, which seems unlikely.

Tbh he did look pretty miserable the other night but I thought that was just his look.

10m for Jay is good business tbh. Good luck to him

Let's get Ernest done !

ElRay

Surely need two if Stansfield is off.

I live in hope that this sale gives us PSR wiggle room due to it being pure profit, to make a big bid for a game changer target.

Craven Mad

I can't say the prospect of Almiron particularly excites me but I wasnt particularly excited for Periera or Willian either, so what do I know...  ::scarf::

Drewry66

A bit torn over what to think re Jay.

£10m+ is very decent for where he is now. Would his value have dropped this year however? I really think Silva would have used him in many games when behind for 20 to 30 mins as a second striker and he would have bagged a few. If so a championship club would probably pay the same or even more next year if we wanted to sell.

The only way it makes a load of sense for me is if there is a very reasonable buy back. If so we don't really have too much to lose. We get the money to invest now. He plays every game building his experience rather than sitting on our bench. We then take him back if he turns out to be a world beater. If not we have the money. How a lot of the bigger clubs work. Birmingham are clearly that desperate to sign him you would hope they would have agreed to almost anything so really hoping the buy back is there.

LC

What I've seen online Marco Silva has basically said if one leaves then they have to be replaced. So if Jay leaves then that means two come in.

I'm honestly gutted to see him go. I think £10m is to cheap for him. I hope we get a buy back clause.

I recall years and years ago watching one of the pre season friendlies at Tiverton,Devon where a new number nine was rolled out before being crunched out of the game by a yob in the oppositions midfield who also happened to be head of PE at a nearby college. "What's the new No.9 like" asked Scalley on my return. "Meh" says I.
Louis Saha you broke me when you trotted of to Manure.

At the end of the game he seemed more in tune with the Brum players than Fulham.

I don't believe any of these rumours - it's last day testicles!

If we sell Stansfield for a measly 10m after Marco saying he's a Fulham player that he intends to use, then how can we ever believe another word he says!

I'm already irked that he chased Andre for so long, just to go for Berge? Not that I don't think Berg can do a good for us.

I don't know and will wait to see, in the morning, what we've done or not done, before I can make up my mind!

Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

Agree with this.  I know things change, especially on the last day of the window, but he did say it so if Jay moves on a permanent it will be one that will need explaining.

The personal terms will be to ensure things are in place should the move get the green light (and I guess that will only happen if we get a replacement).  If it doesn't happen we will have a similar situation to Palhinha last year.  We all know how he buckled down and got on with it- not sure Jay will.

Almiron is a good player and would be a useful squad addition, but he's past his best and I wouldn't want us to spend a lot on him as he'll have little to no resale. Nuamah is a different story. His year in France (age 19-20) was not outstanding, but he had a number of strong showings and displayed a lot of quality. He still made 30+ appearances in Ligue 1, and thus triggered what seems to have been an obligation to buy him for 24mil. That high price was based on his previous Year in Denmark, aged 18-19, where he scored 20 goals and contributed 5 assists playing in the Danish top flight. He was named the player of the season for his team, Nordsjaeland, and also for the entire league. At his young age, that made him one of the hottest young prospects in Europe, and thus the loan to a big club like Lyon at a high (delayed) purchase price.
I encourage anyone to watch YouTube videos of highlights, goals and assists from his year in Denmark. At 18-19 years old, there's some very impressive stuff there. For whatever reason, he didnt really take off at Lyon, and now they've brought in Zaha, which will push him down the pecking order. It looks like they're treating him as an asset and want to harvest some cash from the sale (Textor seems desperate for funds), such that they'll sell him for 8mil less than they bought him for last month. He still has tons of potential and upside, it's just a shame he won't get to understudy Willian to show him how it's done.

Carvalho and sess got plenty game time

Harris and Stanno had bench minutes before but didn't ever really standout enough to warrant more gametime here yet in a period our first teams done well

Our current starting Striker was bought at 20yo and now has beem handed the number 9

Tosin came in as an untested youth player

17 year old king has been deemed so good hed been taken on pre season tour, did well and so got handed cup minutes
