Bright Osayi-Samuel, whatever happened to him ?
If you remember on January transfer deadline day (In typical Fulham fashion) we made a move to sign him but we'd left it too late and we ran out of time,
I've never seen us linked with him again, is he a possibility 🤔

Out & out left back Robinson is the best of three. Ait-Nouri can be a loose canon at times Kerkez is very composed in attacking position & Lewis-Skelly looks to be a good prospect. Only part of Robinson game which stops him from being an elite left back is not so composed with ball at his feet when attacking. Defensively Robinson is far better though Lewis-Skelly is impressive in that department.

1st Kerkez
2nd Lewis-Skelly
Joint 3rd the other two.
And Kerkez is 1st by miles.

Yeah you reckon?

Haven't seen that much of Ait Nouri and Kerkez, but think Robinson ranks the lowest for footballing ability from what I've seen.

I think Lewis Skelly is in a different league (although he lacks a bit of discipline).

Athletically Robinson is as good as anyone I've seen though, I think he's perfect for a club our size but never really bought the idea that all the top teams would want him. He'll always be worth far more to us than a club like that.

I get the impression his agent really wanted him to come here, but I don't buy the idea that we were ever in for him. Never really went anywhere beyond Turkish or African media.

I like the sound of our transfer strategy this summer. We are hunting for two high-quality wingers/offensive mids and it was painfully obvious we need a player in Eze or Cunha mould.

Have you followed the link?

When looking at stats, Robinson throw kerkez out the water,

It's strange because while I havent watched loads of Bournemouth, I haven't seen what everyone sees in kerkez, I have also seen a little of the Robinson criticism and somewhat agreed,

But I saw a youtube video that argued between the two, and when one brought up the defensive stats comparison between the two, they was no comparison, Robinson has been superb and kerkez below average. And the person arguing for kerkez had to concede.

Strange one as I feel it hasn't reflected as much on the pitch, but think about salah, most people number one pick for the team of the year. The only player that kept him quiet all season, in both games, was our AR! The biggest pics for team of the season because he was goals and assists, not just a goalscorer this year, a more all rounded, linking play type of player. Yet our AR had him completely out of everything.

The defensive work by Robinson goes a little under the radar sometimes.

1)Robinson
2)Kerkez
3)Lewis-Skelly
4)Ait-Nouri

Robinson and Kerkez is close, Kerkez is a bit suspect defensively at times, and Robinson's crossings is inconsistent. Both are phenomenal athletes, although Robinson edges him slightly.

Lewis-Skelly is talented, but heavily overrated in my opinion. He may well turn out to be the best of them, but he's not there yet.

Ait-Nouri is probably the best of the 4 offensively, but he's a huge liability defensively. One of the worst fullbacks defensively in the league. In my opinion at least. The Man City link makes a lot of sense, as he wouldn't have to do that much defending there and his offensive prowess can really shine there. I think he'd flourish there.

Quote from: Twig on June 02, 2025, 11:29:50 AMDon't know about it being just "rumours". BBC report that "Kelleher set to move to Brentford for £12.5m" plus add ons. "Flekken is heading to... Bauer Leverkusen.......the German club have agreed a fee of about £8m". That sounds a bit more concrete than just rumours.

It was more the stated fact "Brentford have already made two signings" which isn't true.
If we'd signed all the players that were more than just rumours- we'd have about 15 more players than we do now.

I did see that link yeah. Defensively I think Robinson is top notch and I think that and the transitional aspect of his game is top class.

I do think though that Kerkez has better technique and ability, the way he can strike, and bend/manipulate the ball is something not in Robinson's locker. He is definitely limited on the ball, we see it regularly. If he had a bit more in this regard he'd be playing Champions League football no question. He's managed to improve on it year and year but from a low baseline.

Understand West Ham, Leeds and Fulham are all tracking 2. Bundesliga top-scorer Davie Selke, whose contract expires on June 30. #WHUFC #LUFC #FFC

RB Leipzig interest the most advanced + Selke could still extend Hamburg deal.

Excellent post, Willham.

The point of contention on Kerkez/Robinson is more to do with their respective ceilings. Robinson is a better player now (based on the available stats), but you would also think he has reached his peak. Liverpool want Kerkez because they expect him to still get better (and presumably exceed Robinson).

In some ways he could be exactly what they need. On the other hand adding Cunha and Mitrovic to a toxic dressing room feels like it could add fuel to the fire. If Mitrovic is on the market then big clubs should be looking at him, but for some reason he seems to get overlooked.

The article loses all credibility with this line:

"The Serbia striker is even prepared to take a pay cut."

I call BS then!!

Only way he leaves there early is if they pay him out of his contract or we wouldn't have had all the toddler tantrums pushing the move.

They also said they want £40m for him and can't see anyone paying that for a 30 year old who's played in a farmers league for two years.

Talksport has always been a clickbait style site anyway. Could see him moving though as Al-Hilal are the biggest club in Saudi and want the biggest names out there.

He's reputedly earned £21m per season tax free, so you'd think that money may now be less of an issue for him.
Same as you I don't think anyone would pay £40m for him.
