Summer Silly Season Transfer Thread 2025

I said on another thread (or perhaps it was this one) that Brentford are the one side, from those that finished above us, that I can see us leapfrogging this year.

Not that it means much because I think Palace, Spurs and Man Utd will leapfrog us from below.

But yes Brentford could well be in the relegation mix this year IMO.

I can easily see us leapfrog Forest as well. They'll lose two of their best players, and Wood will likely never have a year close to last season again. Unless they really nail the replacements I can see them finishing bottom half for sure.

If Palace lose Eze, they may also lose a lot of their momentum.

Not worried personally, if anything I believe we underperformed last year with this squad. Some good additions and we may well improve quite a lot against the poor teams.

Once again, a few seems to be getting their knickers in a twist over the Summer Silly Season Transfer thread. It's been going for years, it is what it is, and the name 'Summer Silly Season' tends to give it away really.

As expressed many times before, it's here for a bit of fun, nothing official, if ITK's turn up, don't abuse them please, take their information with a pinch of salt, or just pass it by if you don't agree.

We've seen divorces end better than people arguing on the Summer Silly Season Transfer thread, and people threatening to leave the Forum over something that is meant to be a bit of fun, just sums it up really.

Have to agree, that those who go off on a tandem talking about other stuff in this thread is really annoying, people want to read about Fulham related transfers, not Bobs trip to the local Bingo Club on Friday night, so please keep take this into consideration.

Other than that, enjoy the sun, pour yourself a large alcoholic beverage, and if you want to be a big baby and de-activate your account, please send the Mods a request.

Wolves too, losing Cunha and Ait-Nori. And West Ham losing Kudus (and a bunch of regulars going out on frees too).

Lots of complaints here about our lack of activity, but I would argue that most of the clubs around us are a fair amount weaker now than they were at the end of the season, so - by comparison - we are stronger now having retained our core squad.

It's not unreasonable to expect a transfer soon, but credit has to go to our club's cohesion, stability and ability to hold onto a decent team.

The plan is to replace him with Henderson it seems, so they're probably putting a fair chunk of the fee into his wages (likely higher than Norgaard) and then have a bit left.

This guy is the one that opened all his Christmas presents at 01:00am and then sat around watching everybody else open their present later that morning thinking why didn't I wait.

You could say the same about their GK. He was a career below average shot stopper in the French league. Forest buys him out of desperation in January 2024 (the third GK they purchased that season) and in that half season he puts up the worst shot stopping numbers in the PL. Then last season at age 32/33 he has a career year (2nd in the PL in goals prevented...for comparison Leno was 17th). Forest had a LOT of things go right for them last season and I agree that they're a team that could see a significant drop off this coming season.

Couldn't agree more. I watched a fair bit of them last season, and despite winning a load of games, i couln't help but think "how the bloody hell did they win that". In one game home to Southampton, they were terrible, on the back foot for half an hour but were winning 3 nil with XG of 0.24. I know a few will comment and say "XG means nothing"/ "that's why it's a stupid stat" etc, but goes to show how bad they were. Wood won't play like that again and nor will their keeper I'd imagine. However, i think Anderson is one of the most underrated players in the Prem at the moment.

Not sure about any of the above but did hear something along the lines of Saudi Tax year finishing end of June or early July so nothing could be finalised until this time where Henderson is concerned.

Why would that affect Henderson given he's joining from Ajax?

Yeah if true seems like a reasonable fee. Romulo supposedly sorted 'next few days' according to their owner on Wednesday so see how that goes first as seems to be the preference having made an offer already according to Ornstein.

Yep very jammy. I couldn't help but laugh at their end of season capitulation.
