Great player, but that's too much. Seems its just rehashing this https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/malick-fofana-liverpool-arsenal-chelsea-lyon-nottingham-forest-transfer-news-b2781105.html

Lots of reports he only wants a champions league club. Sure we want him as reliable sources hace said it and reckon we'd go to £40+ million as our huge signing this year but reckon there's no chance he'd agree to come.

Quote from: TB1973 on July 11, 2025, 08:18:32 PMHi DM, do you have any more updates on upcoming signings 👍

More? Has he given us even one yet?
Tbf last season he posted at 7:02PM on August 19th that Berge was emerging as an alternative to McTominay. Thirty minutes later Sky tweeted we had bid for him, ten minutes after that Rutzler tweeted we were close to signing him and he was traveling to London for a medical and another ten minutes after that Romano tweeted "here we go". I may be mistaken but I don't recall any reporting linking us to Berge last summer before August 19th.

To add he called Fig Rolls being close to signing a new deal a few weeks ago and it was hours if I remember correctly before Jack Kelly posted it. When he said it I looked everywhere online and couldn't find anything about it.

I have no idea if DM is truly ITK and honestly I am really not fussed either way but I was pretty impressed with that vey random shout well before I could see it anywhere else. Perhaps it was posted somewhere I missed but not like it was main stream news.

Anyway know it works people up something rotten on here when folk think someone is a fake ITK but not sure I see the issue...either believe it or don't. Simples.

One of those at that price that's likely to feature in the - will probably sign for a club for a fair bit less than that later in window. Lyon are in financial issues, and clubs will know that. Would love for it to be us but he'll have offers from european clubs. Now Forest have fluked their way to europa I could see them spending the MGW money on such a signing.

Would be a big statement signing for us in the 35m+ column + add ons but cant see us going much beyond that.

ITK debate aside I was trying to think the other day how many of last years signings came out of nowhere?? I thought Berge was rumoured but actually now you mention it, it rings a bell that it was a bit out of the blue. We had been linked in previous windows of course. So from what I remember:

- Smith-Rowe - linked all summer until we signed him
- Berge - as above not sure
- Andersen - pretty out of the blue but then took a week or two to complete?
- Cuenca - completely out of the blue and pretty much announced his signing with no rumours didn't we?
- Sess - Again pretty out of the blue wasn't it and then signed pretty quickly?
Nelson - last min deal of course

May be completely wrong as a lot of time passed since then but most kept very hush, hush until the last min, prob as players became available later in the window. Fulham obviously like to keep it all very quiet which makes it feel like there isn't much going on but clearly there is behind the scenes and the media/we simply don't know about it.

Drewry66

Yeah incredibly behind the scenes which makes the majority of this thread a complete and utter waste of time.

 :slap:

Odd one is out there however like ESR last year and always fun discussing the what ifs when we have nothing else to do.

Do you mind giving us humble fans any insights? Things have been particularly quiet this summer and some snippets of info would be appreciated.

Anything looking even remotely close? Positions? Are you excited for players we're talking to? Any already been covered in press?

Personally I'm underwhelmed by the strikers we've been most publicly linked with.

Palhinha was interesting, so was the lyon winger.. etc

Nottingham Forest are weighing up an an initial bid for James McAtee worth around £25M plus add-ons, though Man City value the midfielder at closer to £40M - the fee received from Chelsea for Cole Palmer. (Bbc)

Might be out of our price range at 40 million

Hell go for around 30 + add-ons you'd think. Good player but not done anywhere near enough for 40m tag yet
