I'm wondering if we have to wait till page 200 to make our first and only transfer this summer

Quote from: FFC1987 on July 14, 2025, 03:46:28 PMI think some of you lot just aren't reading what people are saying.....

I've not seen one post to suggest we're content to signing no one.

Well I could say the same to you because I haven't seen anyone alleging that we're content to sign no one. But in between the extremes of (a) having signed 6 players already and (b) signing no one all window, there are numerous degrees of ambition / urgency / proficiency, and the suggestion is that we're pretty low on those metrics (which is clearly true, as the last club to sign anyone).

And it isn't just about getting players in for pre-season training, it's about (among other things) getting the players you actually want rather than everyone else's leftovers, having time to pursue a plan B if plan A fails, etc. If we were on to something brilliant with this relaxed strategy, other clubs would be doing it (and/or we probably wouldn't be finishing in the bottom half).

You could do, but that's my interpretation of stuff like, standing pat, complacent, over confidence among other utterances. Perhaps that's a misinterpretation on my part.

Its certainly about getting the players we actually want in. Which for the most part, could mean they just aren't available right now so we're exploring options and hoping they will be once other dominos fall into place ie not over committing on options B/C. That comment comes straight from Khans reasoning on why we often leave things late. Not always, but often.

I'd be interested in what players have been sold that people feel our reluctance to go into the market early (ish) has prevented us from getting so far this window though. The list of player movements is relatively small currently so I just don't see many clubs moving so quickly that's bucking the trend on what we're doing. And even more important....we haven't lost any important players. So other teams likely more 'desperate' than us, aren't replacing them yet.

Been reading Tyrique George could become available from Chelsea because of Gittens and Estevao coming in (they have a ridiculous amount of wingers).

That would be an exciting player to target.

Looks like they are planning to loan him out to their subsidiary, doubt they're looking to sell right now. If he has a decent season in France his value would double.

I wouldn't assume this means he's staying. No doubt Fulham would let him train with the club until his contract status is sorted out either way.

He's staying fella. 👍🏻

No, I've been led to believe it'll be page 168 - don't ask.

Are the club aware that the transfer window is open? Or is TK too busy with his pretend fighters?

So with the TC now on top of Tete and if the rumours are true that we may get Nelson back we'll have exactly the same squad as we had at the end of last summers transfer window I believe. Very good position to be in. Add 3 or 4 top signings on top of that and we really could be flying.  ::smile::  COYW.

Great that TC has signed but allowing for the decline of our (mostly) older players like him and Tete, and Spurs/Man Utd inevitably being better this year, that squad will deliver an underwhelming crawl to around 13th.

I can perhaps accept the term "decline" for TC given his age but Tete? Seriously?

Cheer up mate...How about waiting until the end of the window before slapping the mediocrity despair on everything.  ::thumb::

We know we are still getting a few wingers, new midfielder and striker. Hopefully we sign 4 electric young players who greatly improve those positions and the brilliant squad we already have.

Yes, cos injuries, please hold for a full breakdown on why everything will be bad for fulham, whilst ignoring the possibility that ESR, Muniz and King could equally step up and improve/develop majorly on last year. A matter of lenses but that's the joy of footy forums/perspectives I guess

We will obviously sign more players though either way but a good solid starting point, now to strengthen before September 👌

Somerset Fulham

United need more than what they have to be better than us next season and Spurs are Champions League, I wouldn't bet against us finishing above both.

I was looking at BBC Sport today and there was a summary of the transfers into EPL clubs. Well, 19 of them. It is a bad joke and very frustrating.

My West Ham mate has pointed out that their 2x signings are a CB they had last season & were obligated to buy & a youngster for their development squad.

We are not alone in not having any new 1st team players.
