Chelsea?! God I'd hate that more than anyone!! No chance with their buy every young player in the world policy however so I think I'm safe.  ::smile::

Yeah cant stand spurs but as others have mentioned ruined Arsenal makes no sense I'm afraid so spuds seems pretty likely I'm afraid.

To be fair I agree with the assessment but I'd still give anything to see those crunching tackles at our cottage again (and not in a frigging Spurs shirt).  ::cry:: Seems highly unlikely however with Berge and Lukic on the books.

Except that JP would provide a more defensive option when we needed it?

Think Marco sees Lukic and Berge as 6's and of the two Berge is that defensive option or playing them as a pair. JP is obviously better defensively than both of them but flip side they are better on the ball.

It is a creative box to box 8 we desperately need as Lukic/Berge aren't good enough going forward and as hard as he works not really sure AP is good enough going either way bless him. Summation is a pure 6 just isn't a priority with limited budgets vs an 8 and think that's what he must have been saying.

Agree re the need for a creative box to box 8. We need more ways to open up teams without always relying on our left wing!

Couldn't agree more about the box to box midfielder. This really should be the priority pre-Brighton alongside two wingers (one of which will presumably be Nelson).

If we are to spend big this summer on anyone, I hope it's on two positions:
- Box to box midfielder with a goal threat - to start ahead of either Berge/Lukic depending on the gameplan or opposition
- Needle-mover on the right wing, a winger with star quality and consistent end product (all teams around us have their own version of this player, e.g. Bowen, Mitoma, Semenyo, Gordon)

The bus stop football club have agreed to sell Mbeumo for £65m+£5m. Seems like all our close competitors are weakening this summer. They can't ALL spend the money they get from these transfers perfectly which means, in addition to some of our close competitors being in Europe, that we SHOULD have an easier time getting 7th this season which will be enough for Europe.

I just saw on skysports website that we are closing in on a new contract for Seth Ridgeon. I had a feeling that King signing a new deal would encourage Ridgeon to sign a new deal with us. I would be happy to see him sign even though I haven't seen him play yet - it signals to other academy players there is a path to the first team and you can develop with us. These two deals could probably be the biggest business we do this summer as I think the deals themselves will have a profound impact on future academy talent signing deals with the club.

Completely agree with all of this

Last time we had a box crashing midfielder that scored a couple of goals is Stefan Johansen or perhaps Mario Lemina. Lukic and Reed haven't really carried much threat going forward.

TC to a certain extent as well, but yeah would be great to see us get some more goals from midfield, and defenders too.

Lemina only scored 1 goal for us in 28 games
Johansen scored 19 in 126 games
Palhinha scored 7 in 68 games
Sidwell scored 14 in 92 games

Supposedly using the funds to buy Hutchinson for over £35m. Looks a decent young player from the very little I've seen but a hell of a lot. Highly unlikely he is replacing Mbuemo s 20 goals anyway so yeah makes them significantly weaker. If they lose Wissa as well they could be totally stuffed.

Bus stop have the striker they bought last summer as Toney replacement who injured himself in pre-season and essentially missed 24/25.  He is effectively a "new" signing for them for 25/26.

He is and who knows he could be brilliant but also highly unlikely to get 20 goals as very few strikers in the world do that.

Loved Johansen, he was superb in his first season and very consistent in general.

I feel that Lukic has it in him to play that role, he just needs to be a bit braver to make those late runs into the box.

I remember watching the videos of Lukic at Torino and in which he was often in the attacking 8/10 role - good shot on him & excellent penalty taker

Can't remember his name but if it's the player I'm thinking of that came back to fitness at end of last season, I thought I heard somewhere that Brentford are looking to offload him.
Edit : His name is Igor Thiago

I hope Seth signs up with us as a club our size don't get many possible premier league players where the big club get many more options, alright we lost one to Celtic I feel that was more like lower level playing in europe speeding up the process and the rumour that we were getting a third striker gave him second thoughts also silva mentioning he would take a look next season wouldn't have gone down well.
