Quote from: FFC007 on July 20, 2025, 11:22:40 AMI still think that with Silva in his last year contract wise, they will not spend big, possibly nothing on permanent signings.

We still have bit part players like Reed on the books, with seemingly no interest made public.

Nelson loan and maybe one more loan coming in and that could it be it?

Mr Khan was 75 last week and Silva has 1-year left on his contract.  The lack of new incoming's, other clubs are spending huge amounts that imo we cannot compete with, may be an indicator that Mr Khan is considering his options.

He has invested a lot, which I am extremely grateful for, but there must come a time when he starts thinking of selling and next summer could be a major changing of the guard.

New owner?
New manager?

Possibly I am over thinking it and I agree with AJW48361 who said just above, "we are not at the top of the food chain, we are in the queue big deals set off other deals we may have be patient and sit in and wait."

Quote from: Pavel Dempsey on July 20, 2025, 11:05:06 AMDo you really judge a people by a "like" on social media? What a woke nonsense.

As a matter of fact, I do judge people by what they say and do, even if it is through an app. If that hurts your sensitive little heart you're free to piss off.

Quote from: DM on July 20, 2025, 11:17:27 AMI've said it before and will again. I get given info every now and then, sometimes it's right & sometimes it's not... It's not my info... As I've said I'm not itk.
The way I word it here is exactly how I receive it. The info on Nelson was given to me yesterday morning & at that time Nelson was due to be left behind. I don't know the reasons behind him now going... For me my opinion is it's leverage from AFC as they know Fulham want him & he wants Fulham... Sorry Marco wants him, as I've said previously the club isn't so keen.

I will though take on board Joe's comments regarding talking like it's definitive. Nothing is definitive until the club says it.

I still expect Nelson to happen again my opinion as I've heard nothing else about it.

Do yourself a favour DM and just block anyone being funny about it mate. The spirit of this is to post things about transfer rumours. Some work, some don't. We've had much worse in terms of ITK who turned out to be Brentford fandom wind up accounts so honestly, post away and ignore the other stuff brother. The majority here appreciate the posts and the ones that don't, don't read the numerous mod posts about the spirit of this thread.  ::thumb::

Quote from: demeant0r on July 19, 2025, 10:55:58 PMLads, let's not start slating those who seem to be correct with rumours like DM otherwise they won't post anything here. Things and situations change.
Agree. These sort of people have hounded out top posters like MJG (Mike Gregg) and WSW and the forum is a lot poorer for their loss and not enhanced by these people.

Spot on. Regarding ITKs can people just... grow up?

So many people have pointed out the club keep things tight when it comes to transfers so frankly any post that's speculative or not is interesting to read and at least contributes to the discussion more meaningfully than a vacuous "ITKs are just WUMs" post.

If you don't believe it there's no need to be so rude to those contributing what info or speculation they have.

The profile of Chukwueze makes him look great on paper and the Nigeria connection would make him a sensible target but dig deeper and this is not a Marco player and we dont need yet another player going to Afcon for a month mid season:
"Chukwueze has been noted to have a weak right foot, which affects his ability to make crosses and progress possession when faced with a strong 1 v 1 defender. His predictable dribbling style can also make it challenging for him to progress the ball in certain situations. Chukwueze's defensive contribution has been described as weak, and he tends to prefer playing short passes without diving into tackles."
Quark, strangeness and charm

Seeing as some people do seem to be interested after all no matter who the unbelievable source is Fulham Fan News has just said Ben Jacob's (quite a famous journo for those that don't know) has said this:

"Ben Jacobs has just told me Al Nassr and Al Ahli both are interested in Jedi and it's expected they will move for him soon."

Don't know why but if true just don't feel like Jedi would be interested. Seems to absolutely love Fulham and Marco and just feel he would want to play at the top level for as long as possible. Then again I would have said that re Mitro so who knows. Be a massive loss so let's hope he's not a money grabber if this report is true!

Ben Jacobs is basically a Saudi mouthpiece, so if he's saying it it's pretty much true.

Agree with you Drewry66, would be surprised if Jedi went for it. He'll want the best prep ahead of World Cup in USA, and makes more sense being here in the PL.

Coastwalker

Liverpool make another 70 million signing,West Ham also busy, along with Villa.

Come on Fulham let's be having you,as Delia used to say.

Jedi always seemed like "one of the good ones" with his head screwed on. But...It's multi generational wealth with no worries financially ever again for not just him but those multiple generations after him.

I'd really, really love for him to stay here as he's a big part of our project. But....ya never know, money talks so often however disheartening that would be. If they want to pay 100m then we can talk

Think you may be onto something.

The rationalisation/defence of our massive underspending in comparison to smaller, lower revenue peers like Bournemouth in the last couple of seasons was that this summer, the roles would be reversed - FFP would catch up with them, whereas we'd have a nine-figure war chest.

Absolutely no sign of that so far. We've been passive even by our standards, and not linked with any/many marquee signings really.

As someone said up the thread, it's absolutely SK's prerogative not to put any more money into the club. He's stabilised us in the PL, secured and modernised ground, he's getting on a bit, and the club is no longer the pet project it was for his son in the early years.

Tabby

Our spending is pretty much in line with last season and the season before when Silva had 3 and 2 years left on his contract.

What will be will be regarding transfers ,SK and Marco in the future. No one can control then, nothing stays the same,Enjoy the present.Chill out guys.

All PL footballers are already make mult-generational money, unless of course your children all just buy Bugattis and do nothing but spend your money.

3 of the last 4 seasons our first signing hasn't even been made yet (panhinha on July 4th the outlier), imagine it'll be any day now (24/25/26 July our first signing across those years).

Palhinha and Perreira were both signed by this point in 23/24. Even the last two seasons, we signed Jiminez, Bassey and Sessegnon within a week from now - which doesn't feel on the cards at this point - but in any case they probably shouldn't be the benchmark because we ultimately ended those summers with a very low (think about £20m) net spend.

The thing is, selling him is a really bad idea since the LB market is pretty rubbish at the moment, so replacing him will be a nightmare, especially since he's pretty key to our entire setup. The only way selling him makes any sense is if we shift to a 3 CB formation, because he's nowhere near as good at LWB as he has less space to bomb forward. There's maybe one or two LB's that have the right sort of profile, one of which is Sergi Cardona at Villareal but other than that it'd be a silly thing for us to entertain, unless SK has decided he's going to sell our most valued player each summer

TB1973

Think a lot of people are making a lot of lack of signings.
No one apart from club members know what is going on in back ground, also most clubs only returning to training now.
We will be making signings, the club hierarchy, have said they want to push on.

It's actually 4 of the last 5 seasons that we haven't made a signing by this point in time (26 days before the start of the season). So as frustrating as it may be, you certainly can't say (at least as of today) that we've been "passive even by our own standards".
