When you say apparently Freibird, are you ITK or quoting someone else on X?

Did he say the exclusive was transfer related? Because I'm thinking it could be this

Quote from: WindyCity on July 29, 2025, 04:26:30 PMJust a bit frustrated with all this speculation on players that are likely well beyond their usefulness.  Werner, Sterling, Willian, Palhinha, Vardy, Nelson (glass), et al.  Doesn't really seem this is how a mid table prem club should be acting.  Don't get me wrong, I have liked many of those players mentioned, and some may still have some usefulness, but speculating on loans, one year let's see MS work his magic, just doesn't feel like top flight stuff.  Building for the future, building a solid base, etc I can't see it.

Is Villa really that much a bigger club than FFC?  I see them linked with many top players, at top prices, etc.  Sure, much rumored, pure garbage, but I see Villa and several other clubs around or below us active in transfers and speculation.  United have 5-6 top players that they are discarding, and there is nothing there for FFC to be linked?  I recognize FFC a 'smaller club' in the overall discussion, but, we are in top flight after all.  Teams around us, like Palace and others, seem to attract and secure top players from time to time.  Seems FFC always looking to obtain frees, loans or players at career ends.

Can't be real.

Villa are the biggest club outside of the top 5 (they're much bigger than Spurs) to begin with. Their fans are also in meltdown because they haven't signed anyone.

Palace tried for and were rejected by ESR and Sess last season.

Villa much bigger than Spurs?? Not a Chance

@jolslover

Chiesa would be a great signing, was in the 'top wingers in Europe' bracket a few seasons ago. Hasn't worked at Liverpool but trust Marco to get him back to his best if he was playing week in week out. Would be a huge coup

I'm wary as he got injured and Juventus let him go for peanuts after, and he hardly played at Liverpool.

The season after Chiesas injury before joining Liverpool he was a starter for Juventus / Italian national team and got 9 league goals, so not like he has been terrible since

Jimenez had a worse injury and has turned out to be decent for us. It is hard to get a start over Diaz, Jota and Salah especially when Liverpool were winning everyweek

 To add, Slot said he was super unlucky with the injury he got last season, and when he came back, he was competing in a squad with an insane amount of talent.

If we can get this lad in, I don't even care if it's a gamble on his injury history. He's a no brainer and real, real talent.

@jolslover

Some good clips of him during his Juve peak, what a comp.. turning players inside out left right and centre

Chiesa would be superb. Right age and trust Marco to get him firing again.

Think he wants to go back to Italy so I don't see it happening

When was it last "his day"? Not trying to be cynical, but I don't recall him having done anything for Liverpool last season.

And yet Juve sold him for less than we are looking to pay for Nelson. There is something that isn't quite adding up about him supposedly being brilliant and being sold for £12 million.

Slot is hardly going to slate his own player either, so I don't see a manager saying that the player decided to sign is brilliant a couple of months before sending him out on loan as he is surplus to requirements terribly convincing.

He didn't have a good season last year, that is true. That being said I also don't think he was given a proper chance.

He looked good at last EURO's to me and had some good games for Juventus before that too. He certainly hasn't been consistently good for a long time time, probably since that EURO campaign when Italy won it. That doesn't mean he can't return to that level, he's young enough to rejuvenate his career.

Thanks, yeah I recall him doing well at Euro 2020 but that was four years ago now.

SerbianLad

He was decent at EURO 2024 too. Had a superb game against Albania. In my opinion, one of the best individual performances of the tournament.

What a player Palhinha is. Goes in our best ever first 11 without a doubt.

Absolutely. I'll be furious if he returns to another PL side (especially Spurs). I completely understand the desire by many here that we should buy younger players with potential for profit but if we want to challenge closer to the top of the table, we won't do that solely with players who might become top stars in a few years. I have no doubt we would have had even more points last year with him in the side. His tackling alone protects those leads we threw away so often last season and he contributes goals too. Bring him back and recruit the youth for  the more attacking and wide roles.

Boro accepts 20 mil for Hayden Hackney. Decent price for a creative midfielder still at a good age. Still prefer KDH, so hopefully we get that sorted, but HH and some other good options are starting coming off the market now
