Quote from: Rambler on August 12, 2025, 07:39:13 PMIf the window closed now, with just lecomte in and an unhappy Muniz staying and no further signings would there be anyone saying we've had anything better than a substandard window?

I know they won't, but I would want some form of explanation from the club as to wtf is going on with our finances and why we did nothing, because it doesn't make sense, and Marco would no doubt walk at the end of the season leaving us in more of a mess then we are now.

The shortsightedness cannot be overstated. Also the inability to identify targets before the window and act decisively and be able to scout young talent overseas with huge resale potential like Brighton and Bournemouth have done. Our transfer policy is really poor.

This.

Similarly if it ends along the lines of losing Muniz and just acquiring Taremi and Nelson, I'd say the same applies.

In both those scenarios, that's a dreadful window to be honest. I seriously doubt (and hope) that won't happen. Still think we'll see 3-4 in with at least one big signing. Just hoping the big bids aren't the old Westham owners routine....

It's About strategy - just do enough to stay in the league. As I have said many times it does not make them bad owners - but don't expect to to get excited and to push on . Marco , having sucked it up for a couple of seasons will eventually have had enough. Missed opportunity ?. Of course it is -but sustainability is the mantra .

Just don't get excited .

Yes we'll put.
Though sustainability and Fulham will never happen.

Wish people would stop with the "Muniz is not happy and wants to leave" posts!
Do any of you know this for fact?
If so please tell!

If his agent is trying to get him a good deal, I wouldn't blame him and Fulham should certainly give the lad a big incentive to want to be here for years!

Don't disagree but if you feel you have been a tad exploited ( given his relatively low salary and yet the value Fulham attach to him ) wouldn't you just feel a bit peeved - which might not be repairable.
Been through similar situations in business many times and it rarely ends well.
Hope he stays but we haven't managed this very well.

Does it not become suspect when an Italian journo is breaking news about other players from other leagues potentially being backup option should an English club sell to an Italian club. Feels a bit like florian in Germany who just pushes German clubs interests and not necessarily the truth.

Yes, as I said - Fulham should give him a good deal and therefore incentive to stay (that was the gist anyway).
As far as I've seen in the vids, chats etc on the offal - he has good friends here and is happy. I believe he actually stated, after the initial Leeds reports of head hunting, that he was happy, wanted to stay and loves playing for Silva!?

Apologies - I'm just trying to make the point that having been a tad late in being " fair " with him and his re numeration it may be too late as it may still leave a bad taste in his mouth . I understood your original post but was just trying to add to it.

No apologies necessary really.
I agree it's late and should have sorted earlier- last season at least.
But I do believe we can or at least should straighten it out - he loves it here!
Also, we have been tying down other contracts so we should work hard on his.

But this is Fulham, I suppose!

Burst of goals reminiscent of Gift Orban before he left Belgium. Whatever happened to him ?

Believe he's at Hoffenheim after an OK spell at Lyon. He's still scoring, but he's not quite as good as many thought he would be.

Sad to miss out here if we were indeed interested,  but always looked likely with Sesko departing.

Hope we can keep Muniz and bring in taremi/mitro as additional firepower.

Aren't we being linked with a club record bid for an exciting Brazilian winger? I think we've made sure we've avoided ffp etc issue whilst establishing ourselves as a premier league club. We clearly like our squad and only want a handful of upgrades.

Let's see what the window ends up bringing before we make assessments.

Maybe come the end of it we still feel this way ...but the clubs said they'll make signings. Let's see who they are before calling it either way

Well he looks like he can take a penalty at least.

"Fishing enthusiasts seeking opportunities near Bergamo will find excellent options in the surrounding valleys and rivers, particularly for trout fishing. The Brembo and Serio rivers, located just 15 minutes from Bergamo, are known for their beautiful streams and abundant native trout populations, including brown and marble trout. The Oglio River, a bit further (25 minutes from Lake Iseo, 45 minutes from Milan), also offers great fishing opportunities and is close to Brescia. These rivers are ideal for both Tenkara and fly fishing, with expert guides available to enhance the experience. "
