More likely "Where's Wally!"

Quote from: FFC1987 on August 21, 2025, 03:56:11 PMI don't think those clubs are looking at 26 year olds as well though mate is the point.

Exactly.
I mean it's not that old either but it does feel like we're nigh on incapable of finding or signing players who haven't peaked yet and will actually get better at Fulham.
Yes Bassey and Muniz but that's a rate of one every couple of years when really 70-80% of our signings should fall into that bracket.
Quote from: KentFulham on August 21, 2025, 04:13:54 PMOtelee......Jeeeeez what on earth is going on.
It's the media not Fulham, I don't know why people get so bothered about something that hasn't happened.

Good point Alfie. I'll settle down.

Mohammadjavad Hosseinnejad links.....22.....16 G/A in 65 games.....
Needs to be 20 stone to be able to get his name on his shirt!

With that name he should get Specsavers to sponsor his shirt.

This would be pretty funny if it happens. I don't think Silva would last more than a couple of weeks with Marinakis.

Koumas joins Birmingham 😅

Lewis that is son of Jason.😅

This rumour just started an hour ago when Moretto (generally seen as legit) reported it. I used a tweet in english despite the prowess we showed in Portuguese following se queda. Could see Marinakis being petty enough to pull the trigger.

Goodness it shows how long this thread has been going. On page one Koumas Jr wasn't even born.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

So a round-up of current state of affairs with 11 days to go:

Fulham would appear to be hedging their bets and there is a carousel of wingers linked

Kevin
Nelson
Sterling
Chukwueze
Otele
Hosseinnejad

As a fanbase, it seems Kevin is the one everyone is emotionally invested in; young, expensive and therefore exciting. He's not yet had a spell where his star has faded a bit (Chukwueze), so he's unblemished for now in that respect. Can see why club are treading carefully and not going the full £40-50m quite yet. Otele and Hosseinnejad seem real wildcards, we've not made many signings of this ilk in years - would need to reserve judgement if we did, Kvaratskhelia tore up Serie A after moving from the Georgian league for example.

We'll get one, possibly two. Seems this is going to go right down to the wire - and other targets like Fofana who probably needs to be sold still hasn't gone to a new club. Wouldn't surprise me if the club are keeping an eye on that knowing that if a big club doesn't go in for him, he may become available.

Appears to me that the club are gamblers, unwilling to blink in any situation and wait to call someone else's bluff. This may work out; but in the end we may lose out on targets by being so hard ball.

I'm not against Sterling, but if he was the single winger brought in and our marquee signing - then it would be a disappointment. We're all looking for a statement of intent long term, and someone who could go at a wild profit in a couple of years.

It's going down to the wire, and wouldn't be surprised if we're set to be doing all/most our activity on 1st September.

Quote from: Arthur on August 22, 2025, 01:41:58 AMI agree with Moussa. Who, exactly, is 'us'? At £20M-plus, I can quite imagine Ali Mac would have been keen to offload. If so, it would mean Marco vetoed the deal. Either the Club gives the manager final say as to whom we buy and sell (which seems to be the preferred choice of the majority of supporters) or it hands the responsibility to someone who is less qualified to determine the role of players within the manager's footballing plans but is better at looking upon them as financial commodities. Whichever it is, hindsight is always likely to show neither one is perfect.
That is the role a DoF is supposed to have. Silva has more influence than the vast majority of managers in the premier league

Silva does but this doesn't automatically make it the worse option. Nor did I overlook the role of a DoF in my post above.

My point here, however, isn't questioning whether Silva has too much influence. I merely offered the view that neither manager nor DoF having the final say on transfer ins and outs guarantees a faultless system.

Why did you bring up Ali Mac as the person opposite Silva then, seeing as he isn't a DoF?

If everyone has a veto then it gets hard to get anything done or get a coherent plan going, which is an issue with the current system. I'd wager that having that amount of control was a demand when Silva signed his new contract however.

Looking through the Twitter comments most comments are they'd be glad to see him go. Inconsistent and just a back up to Pulisic

If true, another example of second hand dross we are linked with.

If he came, another AFCON player out for the month when that kicks off.

That young Iranian and Kevin would certainly be a statement of intent with regard to signings.

Much better than the Chelsea damaged goods that is Sterling.

Count Flapula

Why are we being linked with Chukwueze, Otele, Arokodare and Umar Sidiq when surely we need personnel who will be here when our existing players will be missing for 6 weeks-2 months of AFCON?

The volume and fact that every one of these is Nigerian leads me to believe it's more of a case of wishful thinking / dot-connecting by Nigerian hacks hoping to manifest destiny (or at the very least, generate clicks).

On the Forest/Nuno rumours, hoping that is nonsense as I could easily see Marinakis coming straight in for Silva as a first point of call - if he did I'd be highly concerned. Hired Silva at Olympiakos previously and Solva did well; plus say what you want about Marinakis (I cannot abide the man, he is walking excrement) but one thing he does do is back his managers in the transfer market - plus Forest have Europe as an extra carrot to dangle. Leaning towards it being nonsense though and crossing fingers that's the case.

We have obviously got our priorities right. According to to the a Standard we have made 4 signings -Adam Handling, Ben Murphy, Judy Jo and Sally Abe ! They are all "star chefs"  and apparently we need four for squad rotation .

Marco must be pleased he likes at least two for each position

I hope they are good " on the pass"

Chuk isn't my number one but he was quality in La Liga, hasn't quite worked out for him in Serie A but dross is very harsh tbh. I think he's been inconsistant at Milan from what I've seen but there's absolutely quality in there.

Because it seems to me, rightly or wrongly, TK oversees the scouting and recruitment side of transfers whereas Ali Mac oversees our revenue, whether we are conforming to PSR and, thus, how much we can afford to outlay on fees and salaries. When considering, therefore, how financially beneficial selling Andreas might have been at the time, I imagine the input would have been from Ali Mac more so than TK.

That appears the same to me,and because SK has turned up it's cleared the way to sanction Marcos wishes and be a good window
