Maybe I'm overly confidant in the club. It if we're really ok with one of Silvas boys being let go in Pereria, you'd think we've definitely got something lined up already.

Saying that, if we already needed a CM since prior to the window, you'd assume this would mean two incoming....

I'm sorry but this transfer window has been absolutely woeful.

Is our scouting dept that incompetent that they can't find the players?
Is Tony Khan incompetent as a DoF pulling the strings?
Is Marco Silva at his wits end with this club and will be off meaning no investment?

Too many questions, and no answers. Disgraceful.

That wrestling nonsense has his full attention. Shad needs to appoint a proper full time dof.

They're certainly going for it this summer after moving into their new stadium.

So many questions as you say about our financial position. If we won't spend, because we can't; or we don't want to, or perhaps we will all be surprised and have a few big signings before the end of the window.

Forest had a bid of €27.5 + €7.5m rejected for Strasbourg player Bakwa.

Pretty perplexed how they can spend this much continually.

SP

And Everton signing another one, Dibling from the Saints, crazy.

Rambler

If we are going for refinement as SK said in his programme notes then I whoever we sign has to be an improvement on what we have. Like starters. We absolutely need a starting CM and winger.

If we don't get these two in at a bare minimum then it'll have been a woeful window.

Would I rather Muniz or Strand Larsen?  Its not even a question.

If it were a question, it might essentially be, would you rather 18 PL goal contributions per season or 10 PL contributions per season?

Muniz price just went up to 75k
I hope you meant £m?...  :slap:  ::thumb::

The prices in this window are beyond sensible and perhaps WE at FFC are being rather sensible and astute for the future?

Look at the amount spent at certain teams and hoe they are doing?

OK it's early and they may click later, but then we could also buy replacements in Jan if really needed?

I certainly feel frustrated as most, but also can see that we already have a great squad that perhaps needs just a tweak?

I'm watching 10 man Newcastle putting Scouse under the cosh at the moment- how much have Scouse just spent!? (Ok, I know the geordies also spent a fortune since the Arabs took over, but you get my gist re this window (I hope))

You mention Arabs... I think the influx of oil money over the last few years years has ridiculously inflated prices, and now we are seeing that the high prices commanded are to fix the potential FFP,PSR,SCR or whatever it's called, breaches.

AP gone then:

Looks like the emergence of King plus ESR has put him to 3rd choice #10 and Silva doesn't want to use him as an #8 with that being a targeted position for recruitment. Let's just hope the circa £10m income starts some rapid spending

I hope it's more than circa £10m as given how nuts some of the quoted fees for some middling players have been this summer, I feel we could/should get more for a current Brazil international with effectively 2 years left on his contract. What's £10m going to buy us to replace him?!

Practically giving him away while being quoted big sums for all of our targets.

Whilst I completely agree and hope we have got much more than that for him, this is the end result of continuously targeting 27 year olds. Big clubs play a big premium for further potential and we just don't see any of that premium on our sales.

I wouldn't be surprised if Forest fans get a nasty shock in a season or two. If they break any rules the book will be thrown at them... they aren't City, Utd or Liverpool.

He's not really worth much more than that though, given his age, remaining contract length and wage demands. His output for an attacking midfielder is very poor, so any team looking at it objectively would argue that's not far off his actual value. From our standpoint, it means a profit too since we paid about £8m up front I think

I get that and agree - potential comes at a premium these days and we definitely should target more younger players with more sell on value.

Regardless, he's 29 not 33, has 2 years of contract and a current Brazil international - we should be getting more than £10m.

With the sale of Andrea, I'm fully expecting us to complete the purchase of Kevin.

We can't get more than another club is willing to pay. The P.L. may be awash with money, but other countries less so. With no interest from within the P.L. and, possibly, the only bidder from abroad being Palmeiras, £10M for a player we are ready to sell is not a figure we can afford to reject, in my opinion.

Allegedly we made our final bid and shaktar haven't accepted it so that's that. Some rumour that if they find another wing replacement on top what they have already he may be allowed to move on. Player wants move, his team think it's a fair bid and are angry with his club (apparently)...ultimately we appear to have offered our top bid. And it is already pretty huge for us, a significant club record offer. 🤷

I'm not sure we can or should be raising it even higher, and I really like kevin. I suspect we'll wait it out till the deadline at this point whilst lining up 2 of nelson/sterling/chuk or another in case they stick to their guns and say no still.

That's disappointing. Would be nice to lower the average age, any one of Nelson/Sterling/Chuk will not do that. At this stage, let's just give Godo some game time.

I hope we don't go in for the damaged goods left on the scrap heap when we hit deadline day.

We don't need dross coming in at this stage. We should have done our business ages ago, and not be scrambling around on deadline day for cheap off cuts and second rate offerings.
