Quote from: Lighthouse on August 28, 2025, 01:51:08 PMWas rather hoping that we would hear something by this afternoon, early evening. Oh well.

Doubt anyone will be in before the Chelsea game.
The home game?

Godo to Strasbourg is probably to replace Bakwa but is he going to us or Forest, maybe we are lubricating the wheels for him to come to us

General

What's 3 and a half days amongst friends when you need to sign 4 players and haven't signed a single outfield player in 2+ months. Easy

Is it time to panic! Maybe the scouting team can pull several rabbits 🧙♂️🐇🐇🐇🐇
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Quote from: Pavel Dempsey on August 28, 2025, 09:28:29 PMKevin and Bakwa on the wings would be so much fun, for sure.

Even I would be singing the club's praises if that happened, would love it.

Bakwa definitely not happening though. Credible sources saying Forest have already put two bids in, and we never go head to head with other clubs on transfers. It creates an auction scenario which flies in the face of our core policy of maximum value extraction.

We signed ESR under those circumstances last season.

Don't think so. The deal dragged on for weeks and there were rumours (questionable) of Palace interest at one point. Not sure they were ever seriously competing for the signing. Whereas here it's widely reported that Forest have made two bids and spoken to the player, before we've even entered the process. Quite different.

It was widely reported that Palace were interested had rejected bids and were talking to the player with ESR from the sources that are considered reliable when it comes to Forest and Bakwa, but whatever. You do you.

I don't trust the rumour of our interest in Bakwa because of the people reporting it, not some arbitrary rule I made up based on vibes. He is over 22 so we should surely be looking at signing him after all.

Sounds like chuk is all but signed at this poiint, expecting movement after their game tonight. So maybe he's first in the door tomorrow.

Either way, what will be will be. Plenty times we've made multiple signings in last few days. This one will have to be no different

Regarding Kevin the Shakhtar manager was asked directly about any out going transfers and he avoided giving an answer. He stated they have a 10 hour journey back to Kviv, they play a league game on Sunday.Would imagine he won't play in that game if a deal gets done because of time restraints getting to London and having medical.

That's the end of that possibility....
Don't need another DM

He's not really a DM though, he's box to box.
Anyway doesn't matter if they won't sanction it. He'd be a great addition

No idea if this is a good source, but I'm slightly meh about this signing if it happens; but then again, many of those types of signings have been our best ones e.g. Iwobi.

The main thing is it should be an upgrade on Wilson and Traore on the right.

When asked his ideal position, Mainoo said: "I enjoy playing as an eight - I like attacking but I like defending as well. I was getting a bit frustrated playing striker (as a kid).
"I wasn't getting the ball a lot and I love time with the ball so it was more natural to move back, play 10 a bit, then I played on the wing and then, more recently, played centre midfield."

I felt the same then I see clips of what he did in Spain and was slightly more excited to be linked to him. Reminds me of Boa Morte. Runs at defenders and likes to cut in and chips in with goals too. Will certainly get bums of seats when running down the wing.

Peter Rutzler did 15 mins on the Green Pole. He doesn't do click bait nonsense. His take on transfers was relatively subdued.

Mateus fernandes to west hame for up to 42m from Southampton

38m guaranteed. I rate him but such mad money thrown around these days

Gotta think Southampton should be able to assemble a mad squad for the championship with all this Dosh

not sure if this is correct the last I read was Chukwueze and another player to be sold had to travel with the squad for tonight's game because they were short on numbers.

Lighthouse

Oh it's all too late now anyway. We seem to be selling more than signing.

Wait is that definite? So we have signed.....

No we haven't

Oh hang on we could could sign both of them and....

No we couldn't and haven't.

By Monday evening our squad of 15 players will be strengthened by a loan signing of a 42 year old winger who has been here before. Oh calamity.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope
