Getting visas because you've overlooked them, and players who you've spent ages trying to agree a fee for deciding not to join.

You joke but I'm sure one failure in the January window before last was a player hiding in the changing room so he didn't have to sign for us! By comparison the fax machine breaking down is far less embarrassing! 😅

Cautiously optimistic about the Kevin deal. Thought that would be the one to fall through and we'd end up with a rushed deadline day loan I.e Sterling

Tho it seems the journalists seem a little coy with the wording so could still be a hiccup like West Ham jumping in if Paqueta goes

Quote from: General on August 31, 2025, 09:54:28 AMAll feels destined for a DD frenzy and someone messing up the paperwork.

So strange - the agreement with Kevin is for the amount largely quoted for weeks, and Chukwueze deal has also been discussed for weeks for the same amount. So why the heck have we waited until now to sort our lives out?

And now they're saying we'd not discussed or agreed terms with Kevin, when they said we had before - which just leaves a signficant grey area for the remaining 24 hrs or so.

What a shambles.
I thinks its identical to when we where haggling over CHO, we wanted to pay a million less or something ridiculous and we ended up losing him and then decided in the last minute to get Iwobi for 20 mil.

We've no idea what "details" need discussing

Is it wage?
Structure? Bonuses?
Sign on fee?
Agent fee?
Squad number?

Like it could literally be the minor fine details and most of its already been agreed In principle, no one knows. So just sit tight and see. Looks like it's very likely to happen at this point.

There has been all sorts quotes so no one really knows but plenty of reports up to today saying they were holding out for 50 million euros and weren't budging. Others said 45 million. Either way it looks like we have made a saving. Could be structure of the deal as well. Don't get me wrong I hate leaving all this so late but does look like we've driven them down to what we wanted. Just pray it goes through now.

Not the same.
We hadn't agreed the deal with the club. We seemingly have now.

This is seemingly the package details for the player himself. Its only a day and a half till we'll know either way. Qué sera

So Chuk is a loan, why did I think it would be a perm?

Keep getting different reports about this. Seems to be a loan with an obligation from the latest but seems like the obligation will very likely be triggered whatever it is as the ways it's reported sounds like they are convinced Milan are getting money.

This signing papers over a few big cracks, I really hope this is the start of an influx of 3/4 signings.
Seeing how everyone new guys are performing in grealish and KDH it frustrates me no end to think we left it at this late on and to what save a few £m

Great news, the final line still gives me a bit of anxiety though. Hopefully we don't get gazumped by another team last minute.

If it all goes through, would equate to roughly £34.6m. Hopefully we sign him down to a long-term contract and he thrives.

Kevin is easily the most exciting player we've been linked with this summer. I dont know if he can make the step up to The Big League, but I cant help but feel that if we dont sign him and end up with Sterling/Chuku it would be deeply underwhelming
