Transfermarkt reckon he's played 26 games as a CM (out of 426). I think there's some revisionism happening here.

Iwobi's fav position is an 8 as he no longer need to be stuck out on the left covering,

This revisionist notion (that I have read from several posters not just yourself) that Iwobi has been covering LW is preposterous. We have barely seen him play in the 8 in a Fulham shirt. He has been pretty much first name on the team sheet for Marco at LW for years now. If he moves to 8, then he is being replaced in that position and will have to replace one of Berge or Lukic 

I'm not sure that's correct and I'm more than happy to be pulled up on it but the first I remember it was Bournemouth away on Boxing Day 2023 and he was awful. I've always considered him a stop gap player at LW. He's not a left winger IMO but a great player to have in the squad in the same way that BDR was.

He's played there alot of LW effectively for us, mostly as we had players playing well at RW and not so much at LW (post nelson injury) he's a player who can play in many positions well much like BDR

But he has played more central as well as RW alot in his career. And plays there for his country. Plus he has been quoted as saying his favourite position in the middle. So that's all people are saying. If we sign multiple wingers then he gets to play in the middle now which Silva has said before he can do.

I'm over the moon with Kevin and Chukwueze deals (if true of course, but it certainly seems like it is true), but we absolutely need a midfielder too with Pereira gone.

He does say he prefers to be in the middle but I wouldnt describe him as cover in any of those positions. He's good at all of them
