Quote from: Jules on December 07, 2025, 06:54:42 PMThere was a decent point there for  us today, but yet again we concede cheaply from a corner. Next game is huge. We must get 3 points v Burnley. Won't be easy but take the game to them and we should win.
That goal was so avoidable too. Palace were happy with a draw, they were timewasting even before they scored their second goal. We gifted them that goal. Why on earth was King guarding Guehi? He's arguably their biggest threat from corners and we had the shortest player in our squad guarding him.

Plus the preceeding corner was awful and just went across the box unchallenged before a shot and block

Quote from: KentFulham on December 07, 2025, 06:53:24 PMToday confirmed what .any of us have been saying. We are in a relegation fight, Silva is not good enough and some of these players are not premier stabdard
Funny how nobody was saying that before today when we were in a series of good results.

Those results are what is keeping us out of the bottom 3 but by no means out of a relegation fight. Currently 3 teams appear worse than us but not by much. West Ham away is a big big 6 pointer

We have dropped to many points from games we should have got at least draws from. Today, Newcastle, Chelsea & Bournemouth.

We look fragile, weak & have potentially 6x players out for the next 3x games which are each huge 6-pointers.

I don't like the way we appear to concede possession easily & give cheap goals away. It's relegation performances & could easily become an uphill struggle when others below us appear to be showing more fight.

If we are unable to win the next 3 we definitely must not lose them.

It is by a distance the main topic of conversation on the train still. October was abysmal. November was much better although the games could be summed up as we were good in spells, hapless at Everton, might have got away with one at Spurs and why can't we play on the front foot for ninety minutes plus injury time. December has not gone so well so far. Plucky doesn't win points neither does substitutions that try to shore up a poor starting selection. I wasn't there today so I won't know until midweek what the up to date consensus is but I would not be too surprised to still hear Silva should go in January and take Kevin with him.

A key caveat to the last conversation on the matter revealed nobody had a tried and tested replacement lined up.

I think it also partly comes down to Marco always going for 3 points - he never seems to settle for draws, but it can be costly.

We're not streetwise or solid at managing tight games, especially in late stages.

Put simply, we MUST beat Burnley, I don't see us beating either West Ham or Forest so Burnley is must win,
I know all about our record at Turf Moor, but this is a poor Burnley side with BOTH starting full backs out,
And finally this transfer window will decide who stays up and who goes down, out of all the strugglers we must have the best window, And I would be very concerned if we haven't already made approaches to 2 or 3 sides,
The troubling thing is though, when did Marco Silva last have a good transfer window ?

I'm up for a Diop/Cuenca reunion at CB.

We are so inconsistent, that we will probably lose the next 3, and win the 3 after that. We are hard to predict. I did think the subs today cost us, but we are missing a Striker also.

"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

I think we need at least 7 points from those three games, which is a huge ask given how rubbish we are defensively.

HobGoblin

We don't win 2 of the 3 matches and MS needs sacking

Yeah I think I would be too, or what will probably happen is Andersen and Cuenca.

I really hope Cuenca can do well during this AFCON period coming up. I've been disappointed not to see him rotated more, such a good player but he must surely want out by now.

Very disappointing yet not surprising result v Palace.  A lot of sloppy play, poor passing/easy giveaways.  Yeah, I do think we're in a relegation scrap at present, and have been for several weeks now.  We've had some favorable results recently, but not enough to take us out of the scrap.  Other teams are performing very well, as well as recently promoted squads.  The bottom table half is all clogged up, and FFC is in the thick of it.  Next three games crucial, but will be missing some of our starters.  Difficult task ahead, sure, nine points is ideal, but I think I'd be pleased with anything above 5 points, which would only temporarily ease the relegation scrap but not necessarily take us out of it.  One game at a time - let's get 3 v Burnley!
