Sensationalist side we signed a crock he didn't play as was our most expensive player ever why would you want to buy a injured player again he has broken his arm what if it doesn't heal well and it can't be fixed properly and he gets permanent pain and problems wouldn't go anywhere near this deal
I know you like to dabble on the sensationalist side of things...

But Pepi has broken his forearm in a random accident, whilst Fulham are comfortably mid table and 3 points off 6th. His legs are fine and he's young.

Mitroglu was signed with a persistent knee injury whilst we were in a relegation dogfight....slightly different circumstances to put it mildly and a very long time apart.

Pepi is likely the long term raul replacement

'Sensationalism aside ...what if his arm never heals and he can't play football ever again 😅'

Man. Come on.

Asked chatgpt to search the top 4 leagues for any examples of players who had to retire directly from a broken arm complications

It found 2 examples in history, one of them was in 1926 ....he was a goalkeeper.

The other was in 2005 an Oldham midfielder. Who was 32.

Medical science has come along way since both + this is football not tennis

Do you know who else broke their arm during their career in 2018?... Lionel Messi.

Weird one this. Suprised villa are interested tbh. Was very good I'm first season at Roma then it all fell to s***. Looked lost in second season, then had a bad ACL tear in his third season, been alright at besiktas. looked a beast early in his career but never hit those heights sustainably.

Ok as a backup project but I'd be surprised if there as anything substantial to this

I fancy our chances if it was indeed against that lot. Although teamtalk an absolute rubbish source of course.

Only issue is if we can offer whatever wages his agent will be demanding whilst in red hot form

Well he reverted more to type on the weekend, so that may play into the discussions.

We simply have to get Harry Wilson signed up .

If he doesn't want to then he won't it's that simple

Deeping_white

Wilson/his agent wants him to be the highest paid player at the club apparently - I'm not sure a 4 month purple patch necessarily warrants that tbh

He had a similar patch last year to be fair. Usually coincides with him having a proper run of games.

I don't think he should necessarily be on 100k+ but he might well get offered close to it somewhere on a free.

Agreed. I feel very conflicted about this. We don't want a rashford esque situation

It's a broken arm, if it was a broken leg I would be concerned.
Story of my life
"I was looking back to see if she was looking back to see if i was looking back at her"
Sadly she wasn't

HV71

We are in a position though where we have the best chance of knowing what the player actually wants. We can have conversations on a daily basis and I am pretty sure that Marco has a good relationship with him . Maybe his agent has positioned his stance that he wants to be the highest paid player - do we know that? It's a negotiation so he may well have done .

If the club decides that he isn't worth the demands then that is their prerogative but I hope they have a plan for his replacement - and are cognisant of the potential cost and risk.

Precisely, just get someone else to take the throw ons.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

I'm so tired of teamtalk stories, they pump out absolute nonsense every day and it still gets shared.

In which case we should let him walk. I like the guy but we have a couple of options on the wing now.

Just make sure to sign Chuck permanently.

SerbianLad

It increasingly looks like it will be deadline day signings again, which is a shame, as Marco always says he wants early signings. I do appreciate that signing players isn't easy.

Asked my dutch cousin for his take on Pepi: "Uhh don't. Had one very good season, one good season but had a lot of injuires lately. He is useful but not for £30m. More £10-£15"
