Don't think he does either, but only if he gets a bumper contract. He's prioritized money first which is fair enough. I'll not criticize someone for that especially someone like Wilson who has never had a huge contract. This is his last major earning opportunity probably for the rest of his life. All things equal I think he chooses Fulham but he is going to take the biggest offer.

Well the BBC article has it that he only wants to sign if Silva signs. So that sounds more like he has a sense of loyalty to the manager than he is after the big bucks (although I'm sure he is asking for a pay rise too).

So his loyalty isn't to the club then

I don't think that is a fair statement at all. It's not "disloyal to the club" to negotiate a contract or want your excellent manager to stay.

My take on this is Silva is our problem, certainly for Wilson, and who knows how many other players. Whether we want Silva to stay or not, and whether we think he is a good manager or not and clearly Wilson thinks he is, Silva could be the downfall of this club if he keeps stalling on signing a contract or making a choice to go so that the club can bring in a quality manager that the players who want to stay are happy with

Either what happens over the remainder of the transfer window will convince MS that the Club is serious about about wanting to progress, or that it is content to try to remain a middle order Premiership side where to some extent every season is about making oneself safe from relegation.

I doubt that means MS won't renew if we fail to sign someone, because that requires a willing seller and a player who wants the move. But I think MS will need to be convinced that the Club is really trying and if he isn't he'll likely not renewal. Once the window is closed, it will be entirely reasonable for the Club to press for an answer, as significant things depend on it, eg possibly Wilson's willingness to sign a new contract. So I am guessing that it will be sorted in February.

Maybe Silva is the issue and not the Club or the owners, if he's got ambitions to manage at a higher level (ala Oliver Glasner) then there is nothing the Khan's the players or the supporters can do about it,
But he does need to be honest with all the above.

We end up mid table then owners make the decision if he hasnt signed then fine.

i think people may be overplaying the "manager must sign before I do" angle.
This is football we're talking about. Brennan Johnson leaves Spurs for Palace knowing Glasner won't be there at season end. Forest sign 373 players in one season despite the club being a circus and managers lasting on average less than a full match. Klopp signed a good few for Liverpool despite them knowing he wasn't signing a new contract etc etc etc

They're workers essentially. When you move jobs, how important really is your boss there? There's way more important things at play when you sign a contract to work somewhere.

However, I wish he'd bloody sign the thing so we can move on a bit. Clearly if we're after these targets, he's likely to be staying (as I doubt the Khans would sanction the spend on his targets)?!

I'd argue if I was a footballer, my manager would be much more important than if I was working in some random company having some random office manager. If my manager in my football club is playing a system that suits me and I'm flourishing then I'd rather play for him than risk going elsewhere where I may not flourish?

We need to sort out Marco. He needs to decide. This stalemate is seriously affecting the clubs ability to make any long term plans involving player sales and acquisitions.

If he wont stay the club has 6 months to find a successor but if the stalemate continues the club will probably be focusing on trying to convince him to stay and not looking at new managerial options and then we'll get caught cold when he decides to leave. It is time to force his hand

Sign what players we need now (midfielder and Striker),  and if Silva goes then he goes. We will have a squad of players still, and a new Manager before the start of the season, that's football!

I'd like Wilson and Silva to stay as I think both have been good for the club, but life doesn't always go according to plan.

"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

We have previously been linked with Patrick Wimmer so I took a look at his highlight reel.
Although these reels can be misleading, he looks a great flair player who is comfortable on both wings and has also played down the middle.

Tc contract could have waited until summer, he would not have gone anywhere, it's just to keep the fans happy as we will sign feck all and if we do it will not be a striker or a centre mid we desperately need.

Know nothing about this lad. 19 years old and already playing for Trabonsopor in Turkish League. Linked seemingly with Man Utd, Chelsea PSV & Galatasaray after impressing at AFCON. Being hailed as a bit of a wonderkid. Gala offered 20m euros - Some rumours Chelsea willing to throw 40m euros at them... Trabonsopor allegedly wanting closer to 50m, which is mental.

Does look to have some eye catching raw talent from his highlights for such a young kid.

Will he be the redeemer or just a naughty boy?
