I can accept that if completely recovered from his history of injuries Willock could be a usefu box to box mid. However that isn't quite the role I want to see us concentrate on. To my mind it's a playmaker, a TC successor, that is the highest priority. It's obvious when TC comes on that he brings stability to the team whilst with his forward passing and his eye for goal significantly enhances our attacking threat and reduces our tendency to rely on our wide players. A younger (ok silghtly quicker) version of TC would be a fantastic long term acquisition.

The Cravenette

Football Focus transfer expert when asked what surprises might happen said Harry to leave before Monday. No ITK, just usual end of contract, Bobb in nonsense.

Angus Telford said " Surely that's enough on this issue now."

Angus haven't you learned your lesson by now - that would truly be a triumph of hope over experience .

On the different subject of a replacement  for Cairney  - Hackney would definitely be a very welcome addition .

I didn't bring up the disagreement again, nor namecheck anyone to instigate. But hey, keep on dragging it out then being snide when people respond.

@Jay

My criticism in recent years was that we weren't investing much, if at all, in young players. You seen to think that's mitigated by your claim that we planned all along to start investing in youth later. It isn't. Either we were investing or we weren't - as a matter of simple fact, we weren't.

As to Silva's comments, nothing in there explicitly says there was a plan decided years in advance. I get why you've inferred that from him saying we've now built a base, and the time is right to move to a new phase etc, but that doesn't say what you think/claim without a degree of your own interpretive license and assumption. As such, as always, it's nothing more than your own opinion.

You can't just smother every post that's mildly critical of the club with your own 10,000 word take and claim people have been "debunked" or must "concede" to your view.

It's ironic, I came back on here after a while off because I felt positive about FFC for the first time in a while, but still end up on the end of your posts because I won't concede the club has been run 100% absolutely perfectly and TK is the universe's gift to English football.

Edit: just seen HV71's post. I've indeed been sucked back in. Will take a few days off at least.

much of this and the rest of the reply is a complete misrepresentation, and entirely disengenioius spin, but pointless to continue to explain why at this point. Have said endless times I don't think it's run perfectly and have provided all the ways I think it hasn't been....

I have noted a number of times it's been good to see you more positive recently, but it's a complete waste of time going around on this stuff any more. cherry picking the old arguments that still might stand and pretending the rest of what was said never happened... it's always a disengenious afair of reframing history and misrepresentation, usually ending in some ad hominem dig. No one wants to continue reading us back and forthing further in the transfer thread. Good day

Quote from: C Block on December 11, 2025, 01:05:39 PMI can see us going back in for Joe Willock at Newcastle, he's making the match day squad but not getting any minutes, we've been linked with him before and he's at the right age to be moved on,
A former Arsenal player so probably knows some of our players,
A ball carrying midfield player that is Premier League ready ,watch this space.

I called this in December, don't be surprised if it still happens 👍🏻

Has he been getting any gametime over there? I must admit I haven't paid much attention 20m seems hard to justify if not

@Angus Telford
Please don't take another break; I've enjoyed your more positive recent posts (on-going debate notwithstanding), and those of Kent.

I'm certain by now that we all know chapter and verse where you and Jay stand on the historic recruitment plan and clearly you guys will never agree.

I think you both just have to agree to disagree and move on until the podcast is commissioned  ::scarf::

Rumours of 'The rest is Friends of Fulham' being commissioned by Goalhanger.

Wether the Willock rumour is legit or not, he is starting tonight for Newcastle.....

Whatever that means in the grand scheme of things...

Means they need him because they are thin in midfield due to injuries and therefore won't sell him

Last summer I believe we removed the helmet for the century before a player came through the door.

This summer I'm thinking double ton up, or we've failed.

Also picked up an early knock and was limping around. Sicknote leave well alone.

Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting Endo in on loan from Liverpool..

Still need two players in minimum....
