With the array of wingers now think it's more difficult for Iwobi to move out a CM role in the team maybe a back up.

Seems that way from Marcos comments. And probably for the best given his lack of speed. He offers something different from that angle of being able to cut in and in-swing acute line breaking lofted balls to attackers over the top to run onto. But he can stall things at times out there these days.

He plays well even deeper for his country. Hopefully he can continue to evolve into another TC style orchestrater in the middle

(Or we could just view Bobb as a player in our squad that is capable of playing in multiple positions.)
Jamie Carragher started as a striker even playing his first Liverpool Reserves game as a striker . Man City listed Bobb in the midfield , Pep saw him as an attacking midfield who could play 5 positions and was still developing. Normal for younger players in an Academy like Man City's to be moved around as they develop and move up to the Senior Squad
If it wasn't for the medication I,d be chewing on your skin

We listed Neeskens Kebano as a midfielder. Midfielder is a large category. Phil Foden and Rodri both play "midfield" for Man City even though their roles are completely different.

Came on here excited as saw it's moved on to a 101 pages. Thought some new links etc and it's just people arguing about is Bobb a winger or a midfielder 😩

You posted " Yes, he was brought in after Adama but not to replace him".

Jay, SerbianLad and I provided quotes directly from Marco himself that proved you were incorrect.

Don't worry. There was a time in my life when I would never hold my hands up and admit I was wrong, but then I grew up!!!

Does the Willock possibility answer any of the above discussion? And do we think he is a real possibility (injuries allowing)?

Just trying to change tact slightly, as I think its time to agree to disagree. Whoever we sign let's hope they play well.
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

Frustrating isn't it.  :guitar-playHDs:

Looks like Ademola Lookman is heading to Atletico Madrid. That's an exciting move for him, hope he does well there.

He's had a pretty interesting career. Always liked him when he was here and he's really taken his game to impressive heights since being at Atalanta.

He got injured again in yesterday's game vs Liverpool. I hope that this has finally killed off this rumour. Would be an awful signing especially at 20mil

Don't let facts get in the way of fiction. He received an early knock but played on until well into the second half when he became one of three tactical substitutions.

If any truth he was once a genuine target then hope it hints were close elsewhere and completely gone off him, as surely wouldn't in his right mind pick championship over challenging for Europe

Have you not been paying attention?

Marco rule is Iwobi stays on the pitch at all times & is preferred on either flank over any natural & more appropriate winger.

We need a new Cairney/Murphy type ASAP.

SerbianLad

We don't need new midfielders, we have Iwobi. I'm not having it. Outside of the Sunderland match, that experiment has been a complete disaster, imo. If we got a new midfielder or if Lukic was fit today, we win this match, imo.

It's a shame really, as I really, really like Iwobi as a player, but he's miles better on either wing or as a 10.

Agree with you Serbian Lad. We struggle with winning second balls and duels when he's playing there.

BestOfBrede

After today's showing I think Iwobi needs time out of the team!
