🚨❌ EXCL: Ricardo Pepi's potential move to Fulham now called OFF.

PSV Eindhoven inform Fulham this morning, no green light despite agreement on €37m package.

PSV can't find a replacement and the deal is not proceeding.

Yes we moved slow for sure, but also it is know Pepi was available, so why do they not have options lined up if this is true. Shame but heyho we move on

Quote from: fulhamfever on February 02, 2026, 07:15:35 AMSometimes people look at prices and expect them to be prime Ronaldinho (yeah Barca only paid £21 Million for him).

In the Prem buying a player for big money does not equal value.

Richarlison, Solanke and Tel at Spurs combined cost 150 million yet have not set the prem alight.

It's just business

Are we really going to compare prices from 23 years ago?

PSV are still trying to get a replacement apparently in but as you say why haven't they got one lined up knowing Pepi wanted the move and agreed a fee with us...

Agree, Pepi should do what all footballers seemingly do, go on strike now lol (I am joking)

Not sure you can blame Fulham for this one.You would think there is an alternative maybe short term option.

We have not really invested in a striker since Mitrovic left. Surely we have not left ourselves exposed again by chasing 1 striker in global football.
I take press reporting with a pinch of salt but if our transfer activity has gone to deadline day and all we have floating is pepi, sterling (def not required) and Willock then we have an ineffectual scouting department ans possibly an even worse commercial one.
What we don't want is another loan of an unproven youngster e.g.Kusi Asare who has been of absolutely no value to our first team squad.

Not forgetting he is not available until March.

I'm not at all unhappy with not getting Pepi. Surely we can do better than getting someone who's injured for several weeks.

You can see why Marco might have it on he's toes this summer.

Id like pepi here, but unlike Bayern palhinha situation it's not like psv haven't known we've been negotiating towards a deal with significant bids for weeks now, having made multiple increasing ones by all reports. Theyve had time to scour the market for a striker if they wanted to.

Seems Pepi is the only striker we really truly want so interesting to see how things go from here.

wback100

Rodrigo and Raul will get another 10ish goals this season. We don't need another striker until the summer.

Pepi is injured for a month and PSV allegedly needed a replacement for himm now, despite knowing that we were likely to do a deal with them and the fact they're SEVENTEEN points ahead of second in their league + out of the CL. Can't blame FFC on this one as we've consistently bid more than he's worth all month, PSV just kept coming up with excuses and moving the goalposts as to why they wouldn't sell him, so best of luck to them trying to get £20m in the next 12 months when he doesn't set the world alight

IloveFFC

If they are fit, Muniz could break down it isnt u common you pick up an injury elsewhere when coming back from a long lay off. Raul seemed to be limping at the end yesterday

For me we need a fwd and a midfielder still

Agree they could sell and not replace as they do not need him To win the league

Interesting that historically we have shown interest in Larsen but have chosen not to get involved this time. Given the upheaval at Palace you would definitely have thought he would have chosen us. Maybe his lack of game time / scoring combined with national team mates not fully endorsing may have had something to do with it ...

I think this board would go into meltdown if we bought Larson for the figures being quoted - £45m ++.

And quite rightly!

I am a bit disappointed this deal collapsed - I liked the look of Pepi, and it kind of leaves us at square one.

I think the discussion about leaving it too late does rear it's head again, we have been negotiating for a while but it's only very late we've met the valuation. Whilst PSV could have looked at targets, there's also a knock on effect of clubs needing to sell someone last minute they may not have wanted to etc.
