Don't know if this has been said or suggested on here but......
If Silva has wanted to sign Pepi for over a year then why can't we just buy him and loan him back to PSV allowing them plenty of time over the summer to get a replacement
That way it's a done deal for the summer.
The only risk is he gets a serious injury but a fitness clause could cover this

I personally am fine with where we're at until the summer. I think Bobb is the signing of the window, maybe in all of Europe. The team can't be that in dire need of replacements when we should probably be top 6 considering all the VAR nonsense. My only concern, and it is a real concern, is that this isn't good enough for Marco. And if Marco does leave at the end of the season, it will be considered a very bad window.

The other angle possibly taken by some is might it be another missed opportunity from the club? For me a midfielder was a must in this window. European dreams might have to be put on the back burner of the other back burner?

Not a shocking window by any means. And I understand the clubs position in signing quality not quantity. But will it be enough to convince silva to stay? I'm not sure.

I worry that we wasted a lot of time on the injured American when we should have been focusing on a dynamic 8. Given how important this window was in securing the managers future and how obvious it is that we need an 8 I think we can only rate the window as a 5/10

No activity today from any Prem club so we are by no means alone in being careful about any late deals. Frankly I think the Bobb signing is one of the best moves any Prem club has made this window. If we don't get anyone else in I'm not too concerned, the winter window is notoriously difficult and expensive so we've done well to get even one big signing over the line.
In the summer we clearly have to focus on the midfield and a striker. There should be more players available and more deals to be done. Personally I cannot believe that Marco will decide whether to stay based purely on this winter window (and anyhow we have shown some ambition by signing OB and refusing Everton's approach for Harry).
