Fulham FC oh mist rolling in from the Thames
Our desire is always to be here.
Oh Fulham FC....

Only joking but it does work well at the City ground!
Why "only joking" it's the best suggestion, by some distance, so far 👏🏻

Quote from: Southcoastffc on May 06, 2026, 08:58:15 PMIMO the key thing is that not many people know the words to Can't Take My Eyes Off You other than "I love you Fulham".  Perhaps displaying them on the screens might help, or printing them on clappers (if we have them again).

The song was originally sung by Franki Valli in 1967. It should be binned immediately. It's use is for karaoke nights and weddings.

You'll Never Walk Alone is quite successful and that came out in 1963.
It came out in 1945 in the musical Carousel !

Viva el Fulham surely?

There are several singers named Andy Richie as well as Andy Ritchie (with a T in the surname) but fair play....I meant Andy Williams.

Thanks anyway for the sarcastic reply. No need for that. You could have done it with a smile. So, here goes.

No, I wasn't at the play-off final, FYI. I have covered more football matches at Wembley than you've had dinners, lunches and breakfasts so don't get all high and mighty with me. On that day, as it happens, I was reporting (my job) on a much bigger story than that.
Question: Is Gala's Freed from Desire regularly sung at Craven Cottage or at away grounds by Fulham fans?? Don't think so. The occasional 'Come on Fulham,' breaks out feebly from HE in the silence maybe. Fulham fans are probably the quietest in the Premier League.....hence the member's post touting for a 'club anthem.' If the fans were really loud and proud, the team would have had more success by now instead of 1 minor trophy and runners-up in a Europa League final. Is that it???

Why don't you contribute to the discussion anyway? What's your suggestion? How about 'pass the mint sauce and stop bleating'??? Have you heard of that one? I am sure you have. You've got a lot to say, yeah, but nothing of any relevance.

This is not a new song for us.  I distinctly recall that this tune - with these lyrics - was sung regularly in the Hammersmith End back before our temporary exile at Loftus Road.

Surprised that no one seems to sing it anymore.

I recall Molly Malone being
sung, back in the day.

Quote from: JoeS on May 06, 2026, 06:29:50 PMFollowing on from another thread, what is our club anthem? Is it "can't take my eyes off you"? If so, should we play it before games? If memory serves, we tried it in circa 2014 during the run-in and it didn't work very well as not enough joined in/sang it at different paces vs the slow audio.

Not saying this is the only solution but it seems to work at other clubs in boosting atmosphere.

If not that song, any other ideas? Arsenal made one from scratch which like it, loathe it or cringe at it, seems to have worked for them.
Not sure we actually have a club theme? Quite like London's Calling when we come out for second half whether that's a bit lively to chant to just before kick off ?
If it's more a Ballard type then I would put forward Impossible Dream ala Matt Monroe style! Could tweak a few words and chorus lines?
In a land that time forgot, I used to love The March of the Gladiators from Aida which Johnny Haynes, Jimmy Langley and Bobby Robson used to walk on to!
You are joking yes? Matt Monroe?? Do you want to make Fulham the laughing stock of football??
How about Vera Lynn's White Cliffs of Dover or to be more modern, something from Harry Belafonte, Adam Faith, Cliff Richard (Living Doll?) or maybe something from Elvis or Bill Hayley and his Comets, You could stand up on your chair in the Riverside and really rock around the clock eh?
If we want bang up to date get Felix White of The Maccabees to pen something. I'm sure he would do a great job! With his club connections, his heart would really be in it!!!

You really don't have any sense of humour, do you? Why do you feel the need for all these aggressive replies when posters are simply making light hearted jokes?

And the point about why you had to make a new thread about this is totally valid - there was no need to attack the poster who asked a perfectly reasonable question!

I do have a sense of humour.....I laughed out loud at the 'singing section' proposal as well as some posters suggesting Matt Munroe for a club anthem. Ha ha ha ha ha .....Yeah right. Listen. No one is being aggressive, but I find some who posted in response to a very reasonable and thought-out post from myself, were sneering and nit-picking .......as if it's a contest about who has got more brownie points, such as "you didn't go to the 2019 play-off final did you?' and stuff like that. Bragging and sneering isn't nice. As for your silly and totally banal post. Who cares if I make a 'new thread'?? Just what has it got to do with you?? If you must know, as clearly you have nothing else to do but nit-pick, I did it because it was a new proposal on a subject..... otherwise my opinion would have been buried along with the others and not read. It's called standing out. That's what you do when you promote something. Can't you work that out for yourself?? Like any social site/forum, EVERY member is entitled to an opinion so long as it is done respectfully and without malice or prejudice, bullying, harassment or racial overtones. EVERY member. Not just you and your like-minded chums

I didn't like your tone, asking me in that sneering way, whether I had attended the 2018 play off final.
Don't try and embarrass/shame people by your own insecurity and tainted characteristics by picking on others. You've been learnt.
