I don't expect us to sign Hackney, but Everton would be a poor move for him. They already have Dewsbury-Hall & Garner, so he wouldn't be an automatic starter as he would for us.

Sadly I would not be surprised at all if we enter next season with Lukic/Berge as our only options in central midfield. We've needed 2 more CMs for the past 3 years, why change it now?

All three of those clubs finished below us in the table. I realise that Palace can offer European football but it would really bother me if we can't compete for a player with great potential.

I don't think it's save a penny right now. We don't even know who's going to be our manager so why would we be buying players?

If we did do business early, we could get Fabio Vieira from Arsenal. They only want 10m euros for him. Incredible left foot, plays CM, RW, AM - and already based in London. 26 years old so entering prime career, and he's coming off the back of a very good season at HSV on loan.

Not only that, great set piece taker that we would be losing in Wilson too.

Oh yeah this was never going to happen. Partly because we are very rarely ever in the races at this stage of the summer, for some reason. And partly because the club hasnt got a clue whos in charge next season, until then I dont see any new signings.

When you're in for a player of Hackneys quality, you'll need to be decisive and have set up a transfer strategy long before the summer arrives. Thats just not how we operate

Jacob Tanswell from the Athletic (their Rutzler equivalent) is reporting that Villa are not decided on Harry Wilson.

They must have watched his last 6 games!
To be fair, people are often wrong when they say he's had a standout season, he's done worse than 2 of the last 3 seasons in terms of minutes per goal involvement.

Definitely a great option - reasonable fee and he is only on around £50k per week at Arsenal. Seems like Hamburg will sign him though sadly.

I thought we could get Trossard from them as well - but no chance as he is on £180K per week!
