If this happens I'll be getting flashbacks to when we quietly showed Schwarzer the door for no reason.

I'd quietly show Leno the door whilst thanking him for his service. He's been poor and reputedly our best paid player on £130k a week.

I agree with most of your posts on the manager front, but this is fanciful to say the least.

Pretty clearly one of the best value signings the club has made in the past twenty years.

Damaged goods IMO. He's always injured!
What i've seen of him he's a thug in football boots. Lots of after's so, a red card risk most games, Muniz is better.

Agreed though neither would be my first choice attacker. We need a Thiago or Romulo - then I'd keep Muniz but we're trying to upgrade now

First couple of seasons, undoubtedly. But he was 17th last season in save percentage, that genuinely cost us points. I don't DISagree (sorry my typo there, now amended!!!) on the value front (though almost £7m a year takes the shine off of that a bit).
I thought for 2 seasons he was superb, but his wages with the new regulations could be better spent elsewhere IMO.

Spending £30m+ on a keeper isn't the top of the priority list given we're likely going to have to spend double that and then some on two strikers and two CM's

He's very expensive and his form this season was way down on previous seasons. On that basis I would be happy to see him replaced with a younger keeper on lower wages.

Also would help with amortization to receive any fee. I seem to remember his deal was a structured and very low fee.

You are joking aren't you.
Not in the least. Muniz is better in the air by a distance and, if he regains full fitness and confidence, he's better on the ground. Admittedly it's a big if. The only thing Delap is better is aggression and unfortunately it's not controlled aggression. Time may well prove you right and the worry for me is if we sign Mc Kenna he may want Delap..

I'd say a top, top class goalie will win you points on their own. Leno did when he had that exceptional season 3 years ago. Sels got Forest into Europe last season (and nearly Champs league). Look at United since Onana was replaced by Lammens- people say it's all Carrick, but he's had a massive influence on their results. Raya etc etc etc. I'd say it'd be money well spent (and I know we need other positions too!)

spikey norman

For me the first investment I would make would be to upgrade our current scouting system to rival the likes of Brighton,Bournemouth and Brentford who always seem to uncover some new gems to replace players who go on to be sold for big money.
Get rid of those scouts who have been in post far too long or lacking the right experience and responsible for some of our poor signings in the past .
Maybe the Khan's can use some of their wealth and poach the Brighton scouts

I like Wan Bissaka, but it would be a strange move to invest £15m of our limited funds into a player that's only 2 years younger than Castagne. I'm not opposed to moving on from Castagne (although I think he's a much better player than most on here seem to believe), but it should be for a cheaper early-20s right back to backup/cover Tete.

Although I agree with the theory, we can't trust Tete to complete half a season, and having a kid there for half a season is a big risk.
