A defender who scores goals, theres a novelty

Can see him and Bassey becoming our new CB pairing with Diop as the backup, second half sub. Anderson on his way out, we wont recoup the fee we paid but better to get him out now while we can get something

demeant0r

Is he already Bassey's CB pairing in Nigeria's games?

hovewhite

With scr now in moving Anderson, and diop who stock is high now makes sense if the OP is correct..

All 6 feet 4 inches of him.

I am a big Diop fan, but if we can get c£20m for him off the back of the world cup we should take the money.

As an aside - I know the 2027 AFCON is due to be in the summer, but what about 2028? If that reverts to January, I'd be very nervous about the number of the Nigerian internationals we would have!

thought i read that was switched to summer rather than in our season.

I'd imagine this would mean Diop is off. Financially makes the most sense, but there alot of different ways this could go with a new manager.

Correct AFCON is now a summer tournament

Not Andersen? I say that with fingers crossed and hoping he goes

Nwaiwu is very good. CB but also CDM.

Having him around may also help secure Bassey to a new deal too.

Ends next summer, we do have 1yr option. But clubs will be snooping.

As with in the summer transfer thread - It makes far more financial sense to sell diop rather than Anderson. No matter how much I like Issa and think he's the better defender.  And the financial aspect is really important here.

I don't see it happening with Andersen. He has 3 yrs left on his deal so there is probably little incentive for him to leave. Add to it the club paid a large fee for him and are likely going to need to take a large loss if they sell at this point.

I see it more likely they cash in on Diop, sign Nwaiwu, then set up a Ream/Bassey situation with Nwaiwu/JA. If Nwaiwu steps up to claim the job they move on from JA next year with hopefully LDF ready to take the 2nd RCB role.

Is he? Genuinely never heard of him and always have a skepticism when seeing a relatively unknown player coming to join us from a relatively low end league like the Turkish league, and a team that doesn't set the world alight even there.

Yeah very good season at Trabzon, and Trabzon got a lot better in recent years.

The big risk is that he's only had 1 season there, after a 5.5m move 6 months ago.

But aerial threat, good on the ball, quick. Sometimes a bit too aggressive but solid all rounder. Only 22. They also won their league cup equivalent.

They only lost 3 league games since he started playing for them too.

Yes, one of the hyped ones in club football, in fact. He's Osimhen.
