I understand the concern and would prefer if someone paid us money for Reed. But that is unlikely.

It seems that we are moving older players, on I suppose higher wages, & nearing the end of their contracts so we get some £ value.

I cannot see the argument for keeping Diop or Lukic & then them walking on a free. At least we benefited last season from Raul & Harry's goals.

I'm putting my trust in the recruitment team that they will bring in replacements. Time will tell.

Quote from: Bobsffc on August 01, 2026, 06:11:41 PMThe Lukic to Ipswich rumours aren't going away, which is extremely worrying to me as there is no-one in the current squad who matches his energy and ball-winning ability...maybe Reed up to the season before last was at that level, but not really now...even if Lukic doesn't leave, we urgently need another no 8...but if he does, we surely will need two to come in....and if the sums being quoted are true, then Ipswich will once again have done excellent business at our expense.

He turns 30 this month and has one year left on his contract, albeit the club have a one year option. I don't think there are many who would want us to carry on the Lukic/Berge partnership. I am concerned that we are losing some experience this window but the squad has to evolve. Hopefully this will allow us to recruit an a younger, more dynamic player who scores and assists.

Cant see AA keeping the Berge/Lukic partnership, it is far too defensive, we cant affford to have 2 midfield players who rarely score, in some cases rarely shoot.

Won't be long before a team like Fulham spends £100 million on a player.

I was wondering if someone would comment on this.

Personally I think they'll finish above Chelsea again this year. I also think we'll finish above both...

I think Harrison has been a great player for Fulham. Sent on to do the less galerous jobs, reliable, uncomplaining. I think there's an argument for keeping him. Continuity, reliability, etc

On a more down to earth note still nothing official re our possible Spanish recruits. Not good, though maybe not bad.

Troy Parrott links again..

Think (hope?) this is just lazy reporting. Not sold on parrot at all and can only assume any such deal would mean reaching both strikers from last year in one window which feels very risky.

Could be the old work permit thingy again as was suggested for AA

Parrot and Garcia surely means the end of the road for Muniz?

Doesn't mean anything. Medicals are probably done and contracts signed but we won't get an official announcement until the media team does the photoshoot and interview and the media team was in Portugal with the squad until today so that likely won't happen until Monday then they need to edit it all.

We probably won't sign him till the last day of the window. He'll be hours away from full fitness by then.
Sounds like he might be out for 2 more months, so it could be a Jan signing

My concern with Lukic is I don't think the club should be moving out starting level players. Diop was the backup who was going to be out of contract. That made sense. If Castagne goes I understand too as he is currently the backup. If you move Lukic out that means you will have lost 3 of your first 11 with no guarantee the replacements are of the same standard. A bit too risky for me, especially with a manager in his first season in the league.

There were reports for reputable sources yesterday saying they were flying to London that afternoon

We do t want replacements that are the same standard, they need to be better, thats why they are being offloaded as frankly they haven't been good enough and is reflected in our performance last season
